When he entered his Tennessee Sipping Whiskey into competition at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, folks didn't give it much of a chance. But his whiskey won its first gold medal. Today, Jack Daniel's is still the world's finest whiskey. And what better way to celebrate the centennial of that first gold medal than with a shot glass commemorating that historic event. By 1905, Jack Daniel's sipping whiskey had many admirers in the U.S. But Mr. Jack wanted to know what folks in Europe thought of his Old No. 7. So he entered the whiskey competition at the Universal and International Exposition of Liege. The folks in Belgium liked his whiskey so much that they awarded it the gold medal. And what better way to celebrate that event than with a commemorative shot glass. A replica of the medal appears on the glass, electroplated in gold.
