The Canon SD1100 IS Digital ELPH includes an 8-Megapixel 1/2.5" CCD imager and a 3x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, which covers a range of 38-114mm equivalent. Exposure is fully automatic with 2.0EV of manual exposure compensation and four metering modes to handle difficult lighting along with a ties metering to the camera's Face Detection system. 13 scene modes keep the camera approachable for beginners. A long-exposure mode in the Canon SD1100 IS ELPH lets you set exposure times as long as 15 seconds manually, and a 2.5" LCD display for framing images.

A Real Camera for the Common Man

The Bottom Line: This camera will work for most users - it takes a high quality pictures and does much more - and all quite well.
Review: I recently traded my Sony P200 for a Canon SD1100 and I haven't looked back. The camera is so light that I have carried in my shirt pocket almost constantly in the month that I have had it. I find myself taking it out all the time to snap pictures...

Canon Powershot Elph SD1100IS: I Never Thought I'd Fall In Love Again...

The Bottom Line: Image quality is what counts with a camera and the SD1100IS provides it. I highly recommend this one for anyone in the market for a great point-and-shoot camera.
Review: Okay, I'll admit the title is a bit dramatic… But it's accurate. I absolutely loved my last camera and couldn't imagine parting with. I finally decided to take the plunge and I couldn't be happier with my Canon Powershot Elph SD1100IS.

This is the best point and shoot digital camera I've ever had. It's slim, easy to carry around in my pocket or a small purse. It produces nice photos or good quality. The menus are easy to navigate, it has plenty of manual settings but the automatic settings work great too. The delay between pictures is pretty short, it even shoots video. We even dropped this camera on concrete once and it came away with only a few scratches, still works fine. So, it's very durable. I am completely happy with it and would totally buy it again. Pros: Good Manual & Automatic Settings, Small, easy to pocket and carry around Cons: Wish it had a slightly larger zoom, I guess maybe price, I'd always like to get things cheaper
