Not Recommended - Not reliable - No Satisfaction guaranteed

1-800-Flowers NOT Reliable NOT Recommended What is your satisfaction is guaranteed means?
We ordered flowers (approx order of $75) to be delivered on 5/5. We received an email on 5/6 that it was delivered. We checked with intended recipient, who informed us that they never received it. Customer service has taken 8 days to check if flowers was delivered or not (do not trust their automatic message of delivery in my case it was not delivered). After multiple email changes over 10 day period, finally they are going to credit my account and offer 20% discount (not even free re-delivery of flowers). I have decided never to buy from 1-800-flowers. Not reliable and poor customer service. There is no meaning to their your satisfaction is guaranteed statement. |

Awful and Insulting

I was so disappointed with 1.800.flowers.com!!! The roses delivered to my mom for mother's day were UGLY and OLD. The arrangement was not at all the way it was presented online and the rose petals were already browning by the next day. I emailed them to let them know, since they have a supposed satisfaction guarantee and all they offered was a $17 credit! $17 on an $80 arrangement!! $10 of which only covered the delivery charges!! I was sooo insulted by their answer to and immediately emailed them back telling them so. [I have not heard back from them and until I do, expect that they believe this matter is closed.]
I know they use local contractors to deliver the flowers, but if they can't make good on their satisfaction guarantee they should take it down. I am not at all satisfied with a $17 refund. Had I not visited my mom on Mother's Day I would have never known how crappy and ugly that arrangement was! My mom would have thought I only spent $12 on her flowers!! I urge you to think about this next time you're considering using 1.800.flowers.com for flower delivery service. |

Terrible Flower Service
by rroseman, May 6, 2008

My husband ordered me flowers for a special occasion. They were promised in the morning. After calling several times to make sure they would arrive in the morning, and being assured that they "were on the way," he waited for them to arrive. Not only did they not come in the morning, they didn't come until 8:30 at NIGHT. When we called to complain, they promised a mail refund. It NEVER came. When we called back (6 times now), we were put on hold for more than 30 minutes at a time. In the end, we never saw our "promised" refund. I suppose they have bigger fish to fry. I would love to know how a business like this survives. Don't go through them, they are a terrible business that doesn't care about their customers.

Do not use 1800flowers I order two weeks in advanced and asked for a specific delivery date for my sister's birthday. They go through UPS and nothing on their website says that a person is required to be there for signing. On the day of my sister's birthday she only rec'd the note that she was supposed to get delivery but was not there and they would try the next day. I complained to 1800flowers and they tried to get it sent again to no avail. They said that it was not in their hands YET I'm supposed to pay for that. It took 2 more days before my sister received her flowers with wilted rose and brown edged carnations!! Very embarassing!! I told 1800flowers-they offered to resend another one which IS not worth it since they said UPS requires signature. My sister works!!!The flowers would be wilted again by the time she got it. I got a MEASLY 20% discount from the money I spent!! NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE,EMBARASSMENT OR MONEY!! BEWARE BUYERS!!My other sister used FTD, and they left the flowers on my sister's doorstep the day of her birthday!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Don't Call!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I sent flowers to my friend in the hospital after she had a baby. They arrived almost dead and nothing like the picture of what I ordered. I called customer service and after an extensive conversation they agreed to refund the charge. Sounded great, until they sent the delivery person back to the hospital to pick them up. He told my friend he was taking the flowers back because, "Your friend refused to pay for them"! I called customer service again and was told a supervisor would call me back. Well, I'm still waiting. Never will I use them again and I recommend the same!

Three days later, still no flowers. Horrible customer service- long waits on hold. I had to call three different times for a total of about an hour on hold, and they never called me back when they said they would. They don't seem to have very good communication or relationships with their florists. Even though they missed the delivery date for my mom's birthday by three days, their only solution was to redeliver the flowers with 20% off. I cancelled the entire order; I'd rather do business with another company. If you are sending flowers for a special occasion, and care about the timeliness of delivery, DO NOT use 1800Flowers!

The experience was awful for first 40 days. The Valentine day order was cancelled and nobody tried to contact me in advance. The left some apologetic message on my cell which I could not receive because I was out of US.
Later they contacted my wife by email asking to rate her experience with them. She took care to get them her best hisses. Later I wrote the letter to them expressing my anger. It helped a little bit, but I would rather had happy Valentine Day. I think this company with the attitude like this should be out of gift business. On the March 13th I received the call form the website. They tried to explain something but I was busy and asked them to call back in an hour. Nobody called that was so them. But at 3pm they delivered the beautiful roses in vase with a toy. That was nice way to apologize. My wife liked it. |

I ordered flowers for my girlfriend who works for the management office of a local school system (open 8-5). On Valentine's day, I received a call saying the school was already closed and the contracted florist would deliver to her home address. No flowers were received. Upon calling the customer service line, I was disconnected after hearing a message that due to the high demand of Valentine's day, calls were not being accepted. Upon calling on the 15th, I was told my order might be completed that day and I would be offered a 20% discount on a future purchase. After haggling with the representative, I was given a refund after asking for his supervisor.

1-800-FLOWERS no delivery no apology just say no!!
by sueduhnim, February 22, 2008

1-800-FLOWERS.com failed to deliver for Valentine's Day this year. I would not recommend them, personally I will never use them again.
My order was purchased early and never delivered. After discovering this I tried in vain to call this company. The automated phone system kept saying they were too busy to answer the phone and would hang up. But I could however place my order on their website. I didn't receive an email or phone call to notify me that my order wouldn't be delivered. When I logged an online complaint I received a call back from someone other than 1-800-FLOWERS at 9:00 p.m. to offer a shipment two days later. I declined as the gift was intended for Valentine's day. Funny, they listed our order as canceled, my order was NEVER delivered NOT canceled. We never did get an apology or explanation of what happened to our order. Bottom line: This is unacceptable for a floral company, many people buy these gifts to express great sorrow, love or gratitude and if they can't deliver they can really let they buyer down. I wouldn't trust them to deliver, let alone get a live person to answer the phone. |

I ordered roses a week in advance and specified a 2 day delivery window.
The first day passes - no problem I assumed. On the morning of the second day I got a call and was left a message - they had canceled my order because they could not find a local florist. Hmmm that's strange - I live in San Francisco, CA. I believe there maybe a few florists in this town! I phoned as soon as I picked up the message from my answer machine to get a recorded message on their phone system "Due to heavy call volume we will not answer your call" With this level of customer service - I strongly recommend you do whatever you can to spend your dollars elsewhere. |

Worst customer service

My Valentine's Day order was given thru the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM web site on 2-12-08 for a 2-14-08 delivery. The order was delivered 2-15-08. I am totally in the doghouse with my wife as there was nothing for her Valentine's Day. The flowers showed up 2-15-08. They are frozen and in extremely bad shape. They do not look attractive. I am refusing to pay for an order that is a day late and in extremely poor condition. Three web site inquiries were sent to 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, with no response from them outside of an automated "thanks for your e-mail". I tried to call them about my concerns. Their phone system refused to let me talk to a human about my issues. It hung up on me. This is the poorest example of customer service I have experienced in a long time. I will tell all of my friends to avoid using 1-800-FLOWERS.COM lest they be treated poorly like I was. I am going on line to let everyone know how poor this company serviced my business and then didn't handle my issue.

800 Flowers.com a Valentines day disappointment
by barryech, February 15, 2008

I have spent over three hours of my time trying to figure out where my order is for Valentines Day 2008. 800- Flowers customer service is extremely poor. Try calling them and they hang up as they claim they are "over whelmed". They have lost my trust because they screwed up my order and could not deliver it on time. They claim they will give me a 20% credit. It is a day later and my wife has still not received her Valentines flowers which I spent over $50.00. I will never buy from this company ever again. I think I'll try ftd.com as my neighbor received her flowers on time. Something is definitely wrong and I wish I had read other reviews before I placed my order.

I ordered TWELVE MYLAR balloons from 1800flowers.com, and there were ONLY THREE Mylar balloons that the recipient actually got. The rest were regular balloons that are already deflated less than 24 hours later! Needless to say I am very upset about paying for something that I did not receive. It was not just for Valentine's Day, but for my one year anniversary. I would suggest not using a place called Bloomies Flower Studio either. They delivered for 1800flowers.com and when I called to tell them my situation, they were extremely rude and didn't even listen to what happened; she cut me off in mid-sentence saying she'd call me back, which she never did. 1800flowers.com has finally responded to my emails I sent on 2/15 and today is 2/25. The email still did not have an option to rectify the situation or a solution to the problem however. So, basically to top it off, the customer service is also inexcusable.

Valentines Day ruined--expensive arrangement never delivered
by FirstBrother, February 15, 2008

On February 13th, I ordered a 149.99 bouquet of flowers for my wife to be delivered next day on Valentines Day, because I am out of town on business and we couldn't celebrate the day together. She waited all day until 6pm, when she had to finally leave to attend a dinner appointment.
They conveniently would not answer their customer services phones with some lame disclaimer that due to the high volume of calls, their customer service reps could not answer the phones and to please visit the website where you could track your order online. I was unable to track my order because there was no tracking number, as promised. I have been reading other complaints online and wish there was a way to shut this obviously BAD BUSINESS company down. As of noontime, today, (EST), 800-FLOWERS.com had made NO EFFORT to contact me or to have the flowers delivered. The real thing that chaps my hide is all the rigamarole I'm now going to have to go through in order to get a refund! What a disappointment and what a drain on my wallet! I would highly recommend finding another floral service! |

My boyfriend ordered what was to be a beautiful Valentine's Day "luxury" floral arrangement that was "guaranteed" to be delivered on Valentine's Day. I stayed home all day awaiting my special delivery which never arrived. When we attempt to contact the company via the customer service numbers they provide, they have a prerecorded message that states all of their representatives are busy and therefore they cannot accept the call and it disconnects. I have sent two emails via their email customer service option on the website. I have not received response yet. The order was placed days ago, was guaranteed, the charge posted, the product/promise was not delivered and there is no one to speak with and no response to the emails sent. I highly recommend finding another company to order flowers through. This experience really caused a lot of inconvenience and disappointment on what was to be a very special day.

Overall, HORRIBLE. I used them last year to send a birthday package - it arrived incomplete, after many phone calls it was rectified - I was promised savings coupons - never received. Today (Feb 14/08) my boyfriend sent flowers, and received a delivery confirmation. I never received anything and they were ordered on Feb 11th. There is no answer at the customer service number, only a recording that states "there are no representatives available to take your call". My 17 year old daughter had her first flowers in a vase delivered by 1800flowers.com. Her boyfriend sent it for her birthday and valentine's day! I arrived home to put it in her room and could hear all the broken glass! There is no where either with the phone number or on line to report a delivery problem! I wanted to fix this before she got home. Her first time getting flowers should be a wonderful experience, this was not going to be! I didn't want to upset her boyfriend either! After 1 hour and many tries I succeeded in speaking to someone who refused to help me because I was the mother! The fact that she is a minor didn't help or that I could read her all the information off the box. I had to call the boyfriend! I wonder how many people when they receive it bother to call and complain about delivery problems? I wonder how many people would take the time to call? How many people would tell the sender?
