Amazon does not care about packing items properly

I have been purchasing items from Amazon for years. I have to say this is the LAST time. I ordered a lens for over 100.00.. I received the item today,, and although it does not appear to be damaged (can't tell from looking at it),,, it was banging around loose in the box. Amazon had not taken the time to package it properly. A fragile item like this should be packaged inside another box,, with packing material all the way around it. Mine was packaged inside a box,,, with the lens box touching (and banging against) three sides of the box,, top/side/bottom. THere were a few bubble air bags,, but not enough to secure the item in the box. This is not the first time this has happened. I have had books arrive the same way,, but damaged from banging against the box. Come on Amazon! Apparently they do not care about the customers' items once they leave the store. I will NOT be shopping at Amazon again. I will buy my items from B&H Photo Video in NY,, or from the many great bookstores out there. Dont' let this happen to you,,, shop wisely and read reviews.
