My daughter was due with my first Grandchild at the end of March. She ended up delivering a month early. She wanted the Graco 540 Travel System, which is around $169.00. She needed it sooner then expected so on February 24th I went online to order. I live in Idaho and she is in Florida.
I went on to a comparison shopping site and found that Walmart was the cheapest. So I ordered. The next day I received an email from them telling me the item was on backorder. So I went onto the comparison shopping site again and ordered from Baby Universe. THE DAY AFTER THAT Walmart shipped the stroller. So I immediatly cancelled my order with Baby Universe. I received an email saying they would cancel the order and refund my money back to my credit card. A week AFTER that I received an email saying the item was still on backorder and I could cancel. Well since I thought it was already cancelled I called and emailed Baby Universe. I stated that I had cancelled a week before the back order email came to me. This Representative said she would follow up with the warehouse and confirm they received my cancellation request. Two weeks AFTER that I received an email saying my order shipped!!!! So once again phone calls and emails went out on why this happened and what they were going to do about it. I was told to refuse delivery and as soon as it came back to the warehouse I would receive the credit back on my credit card. Also the Rep said I would not be charged for shipping.
Shipment was refused on 3/22/07 and received back at their warehouse on 3/30. It is now 4/24/07 and the $210.29 is still on my credit card and I am paying interest on this. Well more calls to Baby Universe and emails and threats have finally gotten me to their Manager: Debra Medina. I left phone numbers for her to return my call (cell and home) and then received an email from her that she tried to call me but numbers were "out of order". So I emailed her back and called again this morning where I finally got to talk to her. She laughed on the phone about how funny it was that this order got so screwed up and how she didn't understand how it could have happened. She actually said it was funny. She also told me that they usually charged shipping for refusing delivery but in my case would "waive" it.
For this one order I have spent 8 weeks, over 4 hours on the phone and sent and received 19 total emails. And my money is still not refunded. In my case, I saved every email and will be contacting my credit card company on Fraud Charges and sending The Attorney General of Florida all the communication information.
This company is not worth ordering from unless you can afford the time wasted and the money lost.
