The only trouble I had at all with the order was that it would not let me put this email address in for order confirmation, I'm assuming because the email begins with a digit rather than a letter. It kept saying something like, "email address invalid". So, I entered my work email and I have not received a confirmation on the order on it.

The product I ordered is backordered, so I could not really complete the survey properly. The expected ship date is 11/30/06, so I will be happy to complete another survey after I receive the product. But so far, the shopping experience has been good. The price was the best I found anywhere else and the free shipping is a nice bonus.

Out Of Stock + Slow Refund = Lost Customer

The item we ordered was listed as in stock. It wasn't. We didn't find out that it was out of stock until 14 days later when we asked "where is our item, please send the tracking number". We were then told "the item is on backorder for another 2 weeks".

Nice of them to let us know. So we asked to have the order cancelled & to receive a refund. It's been nearly a week now and still no refund to our paypal account.

We certainly won't be shopping here again.

I picked Baby Universe for the purchase of our car seats because of their fair prices and free shipping. Unfortunately, one of the car seats I chose is out of stock, so I am still waiting to receive it. It was very easy to reach the customer service team by phone, though the woman I spoke with wasn't as knowledgable as I had hoped.

I as usual had a great no hassle shopping experience with Baby Universe. I have purchased both my children's Britax carseats from Baby Universe and have no complaints. My recent order of the Britax Regent was on backorder at most of the other stores, it was in stock and available at Baby Universe. It arrived two days before the scheduled delivery.

The product, the price and the shipping were excellent but I was left with 1 major flaw to deal with. I never recieved an email confirming my order nor did the website direct me to a page listing a confirmation of purchase! The only record I had that I had even puchased the item was my bank statement showing funds subtracted! Until the car seat arrived (very promptly I should commend) I had no proof or record that I was recieving a shipment from Baby Universe. This left my wife and I very uneasy and very suspsicious of dealing with this company. In a day and age where fraud is rampant we would rather pay more for peace of mind, any day. The ends does not justify the means in this case.

The item description states that it usually ships in 1-2 days. The company policy states that items ship in 1-4 days. As of now 9 days later I was told it was shipping today, but there is still no tracking number on the web page. Customer service was acceptable, but nothing great other than the woman who finally called me back today to tell me that it was shipping and that I would receive it in about 3 day. I honestly think that they should have expressed it to me since it took too long, but the company doesn't seem to care to much.

I ordered specialty items which they did state would take 1-4 weeks to deliver. I have not received my order yet as it has only been a few days. However, I would have liked an email confirmation of my purchase. Since ordering my items I have not received any confirmation that they did indeed receive my order and are able to process it. I am use to receiving email confirms and rather expected it from this company as well. But their site was easy to use and seemed to have a good variety of products with good descriptions of the products listed as well.

The confirmation page which appeared once the purchase was complete at baby universe indicated that I would receive an email confirmation of my order. I never received such email, but received my car seat in a very prompt fashion. Also, the box containing the car seat was damaged upon arrival to my home, but the car seat seemed in perfect condition.

I places an order on 9/19. One item was on back order and received 16 days late. I had to do the research to find out where my items was. They never contacted me to tell me the item was on back order. I left 5 messages with TMS, Baby Universe's answering service. I left messages because EVERYBODY is in staff meetings Thurs until 2pm Eastern Time. Customer Service is the worst I have ever dealt with on-line or in brick and mortar stores. I was told they don't have a customer service policy, just be rude and collect peoples money. I will never do business with Baby Universe and you shouldn't either. I also found my items cheaper at Target.

E-mailed Customer Service about redeeming multiple gift certificate codes on a single online order. Turns out it's easily done; however, based on the canned response, the CS rep obviously didn't read my question. Caught off guard by drop shipment -- I was expecting the item to be in stock. No issue with delivery time -- the shipment arrived very quickly. However, because I never received a shipment confirmation/ tracking number e-mail message as promised (presumably because of drop-ship instead of ship-from-stock), I couldn't anticipate delivery or schedule someone at home to accept. I didn't exactly appreciate UPS's "ding-dong-ditch" delivery method (ring doorbell, leave box on the stoop whether anyone answers or not) on a $285 item, either! Fortunately, my wife was home. Bottom line: Great item, great selection, great bottom-line price (including S&H), super-quick delivery, but poor follow-up. All's well that ends well, I guess. Would order again, but next time my expectations will be a little different.
