I ordered a textbook that was sold as New. They shipped the book very quickly. It was in great condition when it arrived. It contained the online registration code for the publisher's website, and I didn't see any indication that it wasn't New. However, this week when I got to page 315 I noticed that many pages from 315-351 out of the 865 page textbook had been marked with a yellow highlighter, thus giving away the fact that the textbook was in fact not New. I emailed them about this problem and asked for either a refund or for them to send me a replacement textbook that really was New. Their response was that their policy is that refunds must be requested within 14 days after delivery. Since it had been several months for me to get to page 315, bookbyte thinks I should just accept the fact that they fraudulently sold me a Used product which they advertised as New.

I sent them another email telling them that I will file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with my state's Attorney General's office. I would think that bookbyte's 14 day return policy should not absolve them from consumer fraud, especially since I would have had to inspect each and every page of the 865 page textbook to notice that pages 315-351 were marked, thus proving that they were deceiving me when they sold the textbook as New.
