I had a horrible experience selling my books back to BookByte. I checked with several sites and Bookbyte offered me the most money, so I sent my books to them.
The two books were packed in a UPS box, side by side, and with packing material to prevent them for being jostled or damaged. I paid for insurance through the post office as well. When Bookbyte got the books, they said that one had been damaged and they lowered the value of the book significantly. However, the book was in great shape when I sent it and the damage they claimed was that the entire book had been pulled from the spine. I believe there was no way that could have happened. They wouldn't return the book or the box, so I could not file a claim with the post office.
They said they had a picture of my book, but not the box and, in my opinion, the picture they showed me could not have been my book. They said they normally photograph damaged boxes, but mine must not have been damaged since they didn't have a picture of it. If the box wasn't damaged, then how did the spine pull away from the book when my two books were packed securely side by side with no room to move? Others have complained of similar problems with BookByte and, therefore, I cannot recommend using them. There are other good places to sell books and I've used them without a problem. In my opinion, people should beware before dealing with BookByte.
