I recently ordered a Garmin Nuvi 350 from Butterfly photo. Their price was the lowest I could find, and the shipping was free. Ordering online was a breeze although there is a catch!!!
When you place an order online, you are hoping for a fast shipment. That is not possible from this company as they will not ship until you get an e-mail telling you to contact them via phone in regards to your order. This is done for the sole purpose of trying to sell you an extended warranty.
After the sales pitch, the shipping went fast from there. But everything else went downhill in a hurry. The Garmin Nuvi was $420 shipped, but the next day Amazon had them on sale for $400 shipped. I figured I would call them to see if they would match that price, since most other retailers will. The call took me 20 minutes on hold to get a real person, if you want to call him that!! He flat out told me they will not price match. I said OK as I can live with that but hey, it was worth a try!
So I take me Nuvi out and test it out. I will kiss you A**, but it has dead pixels on the screen. But that should be no problem, I only had it for less than an hour. A simple 20 minute wait on the phone with Butterfly Photo should get this resolved, or at least you would think it would!
Another very rude salesman told me they don't accept returns, and I said I am only interested in an exchange. Well apparently they don't do that either. I pointed out to him that their website guarantees 100% satisfaction, and they will refund or replace within 14 day's. He said they do not support GPS, and I have to contact Garmin for repair. I then told him that I used my credit card for this purchase, and I should have some protection from them for a lemon product and he told me to go ahead and try it, and when it is all done I will have to pay the fees associated with the dispute. All I was asking for was for them to replace the defective unit they shipped me, that I purchased for $420, and that would be allot simpler than fighting over this.
He basically said they have done no harm, the fault is with Garmin and they should take care of it. I can see his point, but it is not like I was doing this 4 months after the purchase, but less than one hour after signing for it from Fed-Ex. He didn't care, so I called Garmin. They said they will replace with a new one if it is less than 90 day's old, no questions asked! (That's Customer Service!!))
End result:: DO NOT BUY FROM BUTTERFLY PHOTO!!! I wish I would have taken the time to read some of these posts 1st to save myself a headache!!
