Chefs Resource

This review is in no way a reflection of the product or the John Boos Company, but the Chef's Resource online store.

I ordered a Boos butcher block from Chef's Resource. They offered free shipping which was nice because the item cost $1200 and weighed about 300 pounds. The order went smoothly and Boos had the block ready 3 weeks early.

When I received a call from the shipping company, I was told there would be a $125. charge to take the item off of the truck. I called Chef's Resource because a charge to get the item off the truck isn't exactly "free shipping". I was basically told "tough luck" and "well, that's cheaper than the shipping costs, so you got a deal".

I made my arrangements to take delivery and will NEVER do business with Chef's Resource again. They were no more than a middle man between myself and Boos, were misleading in their claims, and provided horrible customer service.

Online vendors only need to ship the items and provide a basic level of customer service. Chef's Resource failed, which is OK because there are plenty of other online vendors that will provide some level of customer service and will get my money.
