Don't go custom! Bad service and policies!

I purchased a set of custom molded earplugs from earplugstore.com. They sent the impression kit, and following their instructions, I prepared the molds.

I sent photos to their customer service to confirm their acceptability, and was told they weren't acceptable. New impression kit was sent. 2nd try same result. Ok - its now 2 weeks later, and I'm frustrated - so I decide to cut my losses, ask for a refund and but a set of non-custom plugs from the same store.

I'm told at that time that they will deduct $15 from my credit for the (failed) impression kits! I asked if they would simply apply that $15 to an exchange - no. I said that I didn't think their "refund" policy was clearly stated on the site - it should be listed on the actual product page since its conditional. No response. I asked again for an exemption. No response.

In short - the staff was helpful while reviewing the molds, but when time came to move on and try to buy another product in the store in exchange - service dried up.

A better policy would be to deduct the cost of the impression kits from a refund OR APPLY IT IN FULL TO AN EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER PRODUCT!
