Ordered flowers through FTD about a month ago for delivery to my 83 year old mother who was in an out-of-state hospital. I paid $84 and change for flowers that were supposed to be shipped in a brilliant cut glass vase. Since I wouldn't be able to see these flowers first-hand, I asked my sister to describe them. She advised and my father confirmed that they arrived in a cheap plastic vase.
I contacted FTD the next day to complain, expecting a resolution in 24-48 hours. Several phone calls and e-mails later, no resolution whatsoever. FTD simply passed the buck to the local florist and then continued to ignore my repeated requests for a resolution until I gave up and went away. Well, it finally worked in one sense. I have gone away in terms of ever doing business with this company again. I had always thought that FTD was a reputable company, but this is not how reputable companies treat their customers.
I've told numerous people about my bad experience with FTD and warned them to avoid doing business with this company. I even finally phoned my credit card company in frustration today to see if there was some resolution to dispute this charge, since I do feel as though I have been defrauded. Unfortunately, I was told that it is almost impossible to dispute charges on items like flowers.
Is it really too much for consumers to get what they pay for from companies and to be treated fairly?
