I just received my order from fossil.com. They sent me invoice, etc. They also sent me return address labels in box. Paper packing looked a bit slipshod though. A single piece of long paper, folded up, not really cushioning much in there.
It came quickly, which was nice, but that was the last good thing I can say.
One watch doesn't work. The other watch looks really bad, completely unlike the picture on the web site.

The first watch, the Code Dial watch with moving patterns, was DOA. The hands moved and it told time, but the "pattern changing button" did nothing at all. It's a static dark background and display and nothing happens no matter how many times or for how long you press the button. It's supposed to have a changing pattern on the display. I put it under various lighting conditions, to see if it was just too light to see or something, and the display was just dark background, and nothing happening.

The second watch, the Michigan men's Kaleido, which I purchased to give as a birthday present, looked nothing like the picture on the web site. The crystal was cloudy and discolored, so that it looked dirty, and even under the brightest lighting conditions I tried, the "M" and the trim looked a very dingy, muddy yellow, not Maize or bright yellow like the picture. The crystal looked almost like plastic had been exposed to heat. I can't imagine that anybody would purchase a Michigan watch that looks like this if they saw it in person.
I am so relieved that I didn't ship the the Michigan watch directly to my friend. I would have bought him a $75 watch that really looks like cheap junk, no offense. Actually I'm a little angry. You spend over $140 at a reputable name like fossil, and you expect a lot better.
Oh for two, and I'm seriously wondering what is wrong with quality control. The "collector tins" don't actually match the watches in any way, but that's actually a very minor disappointment compared to the two messed up watches.
I've written to webguy@fossil.com (of course I got the watches after business hours on a friday), and am waiting to see what they do.
I really expected so much better.
