I received a Garnet Hill gift card as a thank you. I must admit, I knew nothing about the store and really had no idea what they sold! Which makes my satisfying experience even sweeter.


SHOPPING AT THE SITE

It is easy to look around Garnet Hill There are 6 main categories (with many sub-categories) located on the top of the page:
• Women’s Fashion
• Bedding & Home
• Kids’ Clothing
• Kids’ Rooms
• Gifts & Gift Cards
• Sale & Clearance
These options follow you around the site, making it easy to switch from one area to another.

There is also a sale of the day items as well as a search option which works with keyword or item number.

Since my gift card came with the instructions, “Pick up a little something for you, not the kids!” I avoided even looking at all of the kid areas! It didn’t take long to find two things I thought I might like; Collapsible Compartment Carryall and Monogrammed Shopper. I was able to get larger pictures (and then zoom in more) as well as read the care instructions before adding to my cart. I decided I’d get two of the Monogrammed Shopper but skip the monogram - which by the way was available at no extra cost. Anyway, these will be great for the farmers market as well as the beach and things since it can be folded into a small pouch that can be clipped to a backpack until needed.

I will have to remember the Collapsible Compartment Carryall as it is really cute, with the ability to hold 6 bottles of wine as well as some food and comes with some picnic supplies. I have similar items myself but it would make a cute gift, filled with the wine, bread and cheese. In fact at $18. I may need to pick up a few!


SHIPPING/ DELIVERY AND RETURNS

Garnethill.com charges the same shipping rates to both the U.S. and Canada. I do believe this is one of the first times I have ever seen that! My order came to $32.00 and the shipping came to $6.95 (for orders $26-$50) If I had needed it quickly, I could have upgraded to Express Two-Day for an additional $9.95 even to Express Next-Day for an additional $14.95. I went with the standard shipping and it was delivered in about a week. Had I went with the monogram (not much of a monogram gal), I would have needed to add on an additional week to the delivery time.

I was able to track my package at their site. When it arrived, there was a return label I could use for an exchange or refund. IF I needed an exchange, they would send me a new one with no problems. BUT if I wanted to return it for a refund, there was a $6.95 fee! Not real fond of that! Especially since this can be found on their home page :
THE GARNET HILL GUARANTEE We want you to be satisfied with every purchase. If an item does not completely delight you, we'll take it back for exchange or refund. It's that simple. Guess they didn’t feel a need to let us know about the $6.95 refund fee!

I am glad I got a gift card to Garnet Hill or I might not have had a chance to check it out. I found some of their prices high and their selection somewhat limited BUT the items they did have were available in a nice variety of colors. Their site was easy to navigate and I like the fact the care instructions are on the product page so I don’t end up with dry cleaning only items! I am happy with my purchase and will go back to purchase some of the Collapsible Compartment Carryalls. I do NOT like the return fee and am glad I didn’t need to use it! I am giving them 4 stars.
