I placed two orders:

1) A computer for my dad

2) A digital camera, memory card, and battery charger for my mom.

I specified my "Billing Address" as the address my credit card statement goes to, and I specified the "Shipping Address" as the respective addresses of my parents on those orders.

I received an email back telling me to call my credit card company and change my address to my shipping address if I wanted to ship there. I emailed them, and they wouldn't budge (when they responded to me three days later - rather poor response time), so I cancelled my orders.

I haven't dealt with an online retailer since CDnow.com in 1996 that gave me trouble by specifying a shipping address different than the credit card address. Everyone from Amazon.com to Overstock.com to CompUsa.com has let me ship whatever I want to wherever I want, as long as I am able to supply the valid Billing Address and CVV2 code of the card.

I purchased a computer system made by Acer with Windows XP Media Center Edition, Athlon 64 3500 , 512Mb, 200Gb, etc etc. I received an Acer with Windows XP home, 256Mb ram, Athlon 3200 , 160gb drive, etc etc. Much less than what I originally ordered. I called the returns department and explained what I received. They sent me a shipping label, but not prepaid. Also, they said they will not refund what it cost to ship the unit to me as well as what I have to spend to ship it back to them. That adds up to about $60 out of my pocket for their error.

Minor issue with AC Power adapter has yet to be resolved. I reported the problem a week ago, and have yet to hear back from them.

I like the prices, and its fairly simple to order. However my only problem is the tracking which was never updated after it was shipped. This is a problem for me as I wish to send family parts as well and would like to know if they recived them with out asking. The tracking number on my order still only has the fact they were put on a truck from San degio,CA and I have had the parts for a few weeks now.

Geeks.com has a very nice selection of products to choose from. I purchased 3 computer headsets after pricing headsets at my local stores. The difference in selection was great, and I saved at least $15 per set. The ordering process was simple, the choice of different shipping is offered, the package arrived on time and the product works just fine. When I can place and receive an order without having to contact customer service at any point, I'm a very happy shopper.
