Pros:
Clean and simple web page layout; quality Flash animations
Cons:
The selection of eCards from Hallmark is not as vast as what BlueMountain.com offers.
The Bottom Line:
If you don't mind the selection which Hallmark.com offers for its web-based greeting cards, then this can be a good alternate site for general purpose cards.

The last time I visited Hallmark.com for greeting cards, the year began with a "1" and some web-based greeting cards had dollar amounts. When I visited Hallmark.com tonight to see what was offered, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the web page was remade to have a clean and pleasing layout. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the web-based greeting cards are free.
Although the selection of web-based greeting cards at Hallmark.com is nowhere near the breadth and scope offered by BlueMountain.com. Even so, the selection can meet most needs. Below is wheat can be chosen from the Hallmark.com E-Cards page:

The Hallmark.com greeting cards which make use of Flash animation are good, even though they take too long to load. Each category of web-based greeting card has a number of Flash animated cards, and they are great.
The difference between Hallmark.com and BlueMountain.com is one of emphasis: at Hallmark.com the emphasis is on the merchandise from the brick-and-mortar business we know. While Blue Mountain Arts does make traditional products-- I even have a book containing quotations from successful people-- BlueMountain.com lets the web-based greeting cards drive its other web-based business. If you don't mind the selection which Hallmark.com offers for its web-based greeting cards, then this can be a good alternate site for general purpose cards.
