Received only one of nine items ordered even though my credit card was charged. I paid dearly for shipping, but it seems UPS is not doing a good job for Heartland. FedEx did a good job, delivering one product promptly.
Survey questions misleading. You ask "did you receive items in good condition?" - Should ask "did you receive the items you ordered?"
Question 7 should give more option, i.e., "Probably" - "Possibly."
You force me to answer #7, but I do not agree with your choices. To be able to complete the survey I indicate "YES" but I really mean "PROBABLY."

The merchandice came with more than cosmetic damage. The side was completely popped out, and the unit did not accept tapes or DVD's without making a vibrating loud noise, and proceeded to automatically shut the unit down. Since Heartland assumes that all merchadise leaves the warehouse in good condition, I had to return the unit. The shipping cost me almost 2/3's the original price, and the problem wasn't even my fault. This policy, in some way, has to be rethought. It would be a good reason for me not to shop there anymore, even though I have had good experiences with other mrechandise.

Not a honest and upright company!!! I purchased a product for 49.00 on-line. When I checked out they had added a 30.00 membership fee. I called to cancel the purchase and was informed that I had to wait 48hrs to cancel. This type of business practice should be against the law. I will never do business with them again.

The ad stated the TV would come with a remote and AC/DC adaptor. When the TV arrived, neither was in the box. I called and was passed to a supervisor who said that no remote came with the TV and it was an ad misprint. I asked if the picture was a misprint also because it showed the remote, too. The AC/DC adaptor and remote (if was wanted it) could be obtained by the manufacturer, whose number she have me. She couldn't even send the AC/DC adaptor (which we should have received) from where I called her. The number she gave connected me with a manufacturer in a foreign country and I had to "press 3" to connect with the United States. After being on hold for 55 min I hung up. We returned the product today, having to pay for security (as stated in the return requirements), having to pay extra because it was an oversized box, and then the cost of shipping. We were extremely disappointed in this entire event and will never buy from Heartland America again. I find it disheartening that a company called "Heartland America" had to send me to a foreign country to resolve my problem -- which was never resolved!

At the time you place an order they will put up an impluse purchase offer, a small thing like a flashlight. On two separate orders I selected yes to this as it looked like a good deal. The first one was fine. The second was a piece of junk, and I felt "used" and fooled when I inspected it. The cost was low enough that it wasn't worth the effort required to return it. Be wary of the quality of these impulse items.

My only complaint is the "automatic" extended warranties/ club joining. You don't have to resort to this type of underhanded business. Make them available ONLY if the customer wants them; not make the customer "unclick" them. As it stands, they are very tricky.
