I placed two separate orders with Home Annex on April 30, 2009. The first order was to be delivered to my home address in MO. Later, I placed another order to be sent to an address in San Francisco. Somehow, Home Annex changed the address of my original order to the San Francisco one. I placed two separate orders to be certain that there would be no confusion on the shipping; I paid the extra $8.95 “handling fee” to make sure that no mistake was made. I noticed their shipping address error when checking on the status of my "in stock" order two weeks later. I tried to contact them by email and phone. “Customer service” is never available. When calling 718-506-9359, I selected “1” for sales although I needed customer service. I held on the phone for well over 30 minutes before a lady answered. I told her that they had made an error on the shipping address, that I had the receipt with the correct address, and asked her to check on my other order for delivery time. She said she would change the incorrect address on my first order and check on delivery since the items were "in stock." She said she would have to “call me back” and would also send an email to me after she corrected it. She did not correct the address; she did not contact me in any way. I have not received any merchandise from Home Annex. I have called, emailed, and tried "online chat" and cannot contact them. Once, after holding over an hour they answered the "sales" line and immediately hung up. I left them many more emails and a phone message to cancel both of my orders. I am disputing my charges through my Citibank VISA. Home Annex evidently claimed to VISA that I received my merchandise. (Since I don't live in San Francisco, I don't know if they delivered it there, but I have asked the remodelers and they have not seen any packages. I ordered a lot, so they would notice.) I have written Citibank VISA giving them all my supporting evidence and telling them that I will not pay ANY fee to Home Annex since I did not receive the merchandise and I am unable to contact them. I have spent hours trying to deal with this retailer. I believe that Home Annex tries to wear down the customer until one gives up and pays the handling and restocking fee on items not received. Why else could VISA get in touch with them when I filed a dispute, but I could not? One "reviewer" said that she had a great experience with Home Annex, but would not have ordered if she had read all of these negative comments before. Look at the consistently poor and very similar complaints. Either she is very lucky, or she is affiliated with Home Annex. I could not give them any but the lowest review in all categories because this is the worst online experience I have ever had, and it is not over.  I registered a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB lists the name, Home Annex, as just one alias among many. This is the address for you to file a complaint. The BBB site does not take long and is easy to use.
