J&R is my favorite online shopping source.  I have only the most positive things  to say.  I research products, decide on the brand I want and head straight for J&R.  Ease of ordering, full info, delivery as scheduled, items exactly as described and carefully packed.  My last 2 purchases were refurbished items and both are terrific.  I trust J&R.

My husband wanted a VHS player because we have hundreds of old tapes.  We'd--or rather I'd--shopped for years for one to replaced the JVC that died of old age.  (He always sticks me with the research.)  I balked at the prices.  DVD players are cheap and what does he want with all those old football games anyway?

Well, it's football season again and he was getting on my last nerve so I started shopping again and found a refurbished Sony DVD/VCR combo at J&R.  I didn't worry about buying refurbished from J&R because I've been a customer for years, have never had a problem, and have faith that If I did, J&R would make things right.

The Sony arrived with all kinds of extra cables and promises of plug-and-play.  My husband procrastinated on the installation.  It took him 3 days and numerous calls to Magnavox to install a DVD player/recorder so he was leery of all the extras that came with the Sony.

Sony IS plug-and-play.  Plug it in, turn it on, and it works.  Furthermore it improves the picture on our 20-year-old TV (also a Sony).  We have DirectTV so the changover was not an issue.  The picture is now as good as the one on our fancy LED widescreen TV.

All installations should be this easy!  And all stores should be like J&R.  On time delivery as promised, customer service stays in touch, return and refund policies stated up front (i've never had to use them), lots of stock, easy site to navigate, ordering is simple, prices are very good.
