This exact same thing happened to me TWICE!
"JC Whitney on line needs better customer support. Misrepresents in-stock status.
I placed an order and received an email confirming that the product was in stock and would be shipped on a certain date. After waiting for 10 days (allowing for slow ground delivery) I finally called customer service. They said that the order had been canceled because it was no longer in stock. They should have sent me an email as soon as this information was available. Their failure has cost me a delay of one month for an important repair.
One final note... their customer service rep was clueless. She was able to find my order but could not tell me what the part was even though she had a part number because "the systems don't work together." "
The first time this happened, I was told by the customer service rep that the cancellation was a mistake, and that she had the parts in stock. She advised me to place another order. I did, and the same thing happened again (the day the order should have arrived, I found a postcard for every item I ordered in my mailbox (15). Clearly their system does NOT work!
