Since I have started to ride a motorcycle I have slowly begun to build up my motorcycle gear collection. I have leather accessories such as gloves and jackets but I also wanted to have a few choices in textile apparel. Textile jackets are non-leather jackets that can include body armor and can run just as much as the expensive leather jackets. My search lead me to Kneedraggers.com where I found that I was looking for at the cheapest price.

The Homepage
Kneedraggers.com has that wonderful balance of stuffing tons of information into easy to click categories. The homepage has the Products listed that they sell such as:
1. Performance parts- which include exhausts, sprockets, brakes, pegs and chains
2. Protective Gear- which includes helmets jackets, gloves, leathers, boots and pants.
3. tires
4. Accessories- casual apparel, windscreens, locks and pocket bikes.

The homepage also includes links that take the user to what’s new with accessories pocket bikes and any items that are on sale. Simple and easy to navigate, the homepage has no frills, just the hardcore information you need to make a purchase. While browsing through the homepage I noticed no broken links or error pages. There is a phone number in bold you choose to order stuff over the phone but in all reality I had a lot of confidence in this site.

Product Layout and My Experience
Since I was looking for a particular category (women’s textile jackets) I spent a lot of time before realizing that Kneedraggers.com does not exactly specialize in women’s stuff. They do however offer jackets in a Men’s X-tra small which fits me but I suggest women carefully check the sizing chart before purchasing any apparel from this site.

When browsing through the textile jackets I noticed that there are no thumbnail pictures that pop up unless you actually click on the picture. So say you know exactly the jacket you were looking for. For me it was the Joe Rocket Atomic jacket that suited me best.. I clicked on the link and the prices popped right up. If I didn’t know what jacket I was looking for, I would have been doing a lot of clicking. Kneedraggers.com is really for the experienced motorcycle apparel shopper who knows what they are looking for. If you are a beginner and looking for new apparel I suggest trying another site to get more detail on product specs.

I found that most of their jackets we actually cheaper than other websites and certainly cheaper than the local bike dealers around the bay area. The jacket I wanted was $170.00 and on other motorcycle gear sites it was listed as high as $225.00 Kneedraggers.com offers protective gear from a wide range of suppliers including:

When I finally decided that the Joe rocket jacket was the one I was going to purchase there was a handy link on the webpage to add it to my basket. I placed an order for my jacket as it was in stock and at a consistent price throughout the site. I couldn’t find a shipping chart ,which baffled me and even though they offer no taxes 8 dollars was tacked onto my total for UPS ground shipping. Now everyone knows that Ground Shipping takes forever and the only other types of shipping Kneedragers offers is UPS 2nd day which runs for almost $30.00! I took the ground shipping and hoped my package would arrive in a decent amount of time. I received a confirmation email that had all of my current info and my order status. That email was handy because I tracked it the 10 days waited for my order to arrive at my front door. My jacket came boxed up and packages in the original distributor packaging. Overall I was pretty pleased with Kneedraggers.com as a place to obtain discount gear and accessories.

The site happily makes exchanges however there is a few catches. The item must have the RMA number attached because if it des not they will refuse to return it. They also charge exchange fees to cover the shipping handling and the time that they have spent for the exchange. They strongly encourage you to try the product on somewhere else to save time and money. Remember when I wrote they were only for the experienced apparel buyer? Well this reiterates that point. All returned merchandise must be in its original, new, unused, unworn condition, and include its original undamaged packaging, attached tags, instructions, etc.
