Purchased one chandelier and was not notified of it being discontinued until a WHOLE week later. It had been discontinued for 3 YEARS!! Why it is still featured on your website I have no idea. Then I proceed to purchase another chandelier and no discount for the inconvenience caused by the previous order. So this order was supposed to ship on the Dec. 31st. Did not ship until the Jan. 8th! The manufacturer claimed that they do not ship during the holidays. So why would they tell me it would ship that day then. FINALLY it arrives then it's missing parts! Don't even try to get a response from leaving them a message or an email. Can't even get through their phones either. Terrible, do not order from

The overall experience was extremely disappointing. I purchased over $8k worth of fixtures. The sales person took the order promptly however, the products were delayed, some arrived broken and customer service has been unresponsive. Even though they were aware that I was planning on ordering many more items (they were already listed in my shopping portfolio), they didn't address the issues. It's as if they aren't concerned with additional revenue. I've followed-up on credits due my account 8 times and am still waiting for a resolution. I would say that the operation is sloppy at best. Order status is not updated daily as is promised on the site and follow-up is virtually nonexistent. I've purchased the balance of my fixtures from another online source: lamps plus and have been very satisfied with the service as well as the products from the online provider.

Web site said order will be shipped after a week. After a week it said it is shipped. I did not receive it for a week so I called them. They said order is not shipped and return process is kicked off (why?). Today I got a mail that my order will shipped next year (1/22/08). I WILL NEVER BUY STUFF FROM HERE AGAIN. No one in the company knows whats going on...

They do NOT price match. I emailed them with better prices on two items that I was shipped & they stated they didn't price match sale prices. This was not stated on their website & who decides if it is a sale price? They just aren't going to pay me the difference. When I emailed them again with another website that was cheaper, they completely ignored me & did not respond. Also, one of the items on the website was priced incorrectly ($150 difference) & they would not honor the price. So sorry the said, but they still haven't changed the price on the site. What a bad experience all around. Would not recommend, for sure.

I do not know how this company stays in business. I would assume not with repeat customers. Everything that could have gone wrong did. A month and a half later I still have not received my complete order which they claimed would take 1-2 weeks. They billed me twice on a portion of the order. And one of the fixtures did not come with the mounting hardware which I contacted them about and probably will never see. I have been purchasing items over the internet for a long time now and this is the first time I have ever been so unsatisfied with a web site as to post a review. I will never go to this web site again. I would recommend Bellacor even though their prices are a little higher.

HORRIBLE!!!!!
We have been trying since July to complete an order of $4000 in lighting with this company...we finally cancelled the whole order after 8 emails from them in two months..(1 each week for 2 months) with messages that the items were delayed ..finally we cancelled..then they shipped the order in October...3 months after original order was placed and a month after we cancelled. We sent numerous emails and left messages on their voicemails for weeks with no response. This week we talked to 5 different reps to try and return product (we ended up buying local to complete our kitchen remodel)...the best response we got was we could try to sell the items on EBAY...we will end up in court over this ridiculous company...we shop online all the time with fabulous results...this has been expensive and a waste of our time... |

After ordering a lamp on 8/23, I got a confirmation saying it would ship 9/3 (more than the 1-2 days they say on the site, but within reasonable time). They charged me for the lamp. On 10/1 after seeing the final ship update of 10/15, I decided to cancel. No attempts to try and cancel lamp were returned by this company (phone or email). 10 days later, I am still waiting. This is the only bad online experience I have ever had! STAY AWAY!!!

Stay away, Beware! After ordering a lamp and receiving their confirmation e-mail a minute later I noticed they were charging me for two lamps instead of one and they were sending this long letter with their return policy of 25% re-stocking fee I called them immediately to let them know there was a mistake, the person on the phone said "no problem" and at my request sent me a corrected receipt, my surprise was the next day when I received an e-mail stating they were sending two lamps! I called them, the girl on the phone was rude and kept insisting that I had to receive the lamp (that I did not order) and after that go through their return process wich would involve expenses of shipping and the 25% re-stocking fee plus my expense and trouble to ship it back to them! I e-mailed the person that had sent me the corrected receipt, I faxed the manager they all ignored me! that just proves that they are malicious and unscrupulous

I placed a large order of lighting for a house under construction early enough to allow for any possibility of back orders. When the fixtures arrived, I opened each box to make sure I got what I ordered and closed up the boxes for safekeeping until needed. Months later, when the electrician went to install the fixtures, we discovered that the bulb sockets were not for regular base up to 100 watt as advertised, rather, the sockets were for candelabra base 60 watt max. With only two bulbs to the fixture, the candelabra base 60 watt bulbs are not sufficient to light up my powder bath. It is obvious that what is on their website for specifications is not always accurate and Lighting Universe will do nothing to remedy the problem if past their 30 day return policy. It never crossed my mind to check the socket size of the fixtures, trusting what I was told in the website specs.

I stumbled upon Lighting Universe to get some ideas for my kitchen remodel. After a few days searching for pendants, (and getting lost in the selection) I noticed that they had a showroom in town here in Kirkland, so I decided to go take a look. For a small showroom, I was surprised at the selection they had. I still had questions about can lighting and lighting design, so I asked Drew, my sales person about it. He answered every question I had and then some, then he offered to come out to my home to help design everything... for FREE! It took about 2 weeks to get everything we needed, which was a little longer than I wanted to wait, but now I'm glad we did. We just finished the project, and I'm just amazed how well it turned out. We'll be calling Drew again we're ready to start our next phase of remodel.

I am very disappointed with the service provided by Lighting Universe. We ordered two outside lighting fixtures. One of the fixtures arrived broken -- but rather than replace the entire fixture, they ordered us another glass panel from the manufacturer that we then had to install ourselves. No discount for the inconvenience was provided.
Moreover, although we used a coupon code to purchase the items, their system did not properly reflect the discount (a 5% discount). I emailed their customer service but they refused to grant me the discount despite their error. They also ignored several emails I sent thereafter. Lighting Universe is the epitome of bad customer service. |

Products are as pictured and prices are very good, however, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. They typically take 2-3 days to follow-up on an email or telephone inquiry. I have never been able to call and actually speak with a live person.
Apparently, their inventory is minimal as many items shipped directly from the manufacturer. Takes WEEKS to get a replacement product if anything is damaged. Would not recommend them simply because of their customer service. |

The light I ordered was broken on both ends. It was also a return from another customer. They used the same box that she shipped the return merchandise in with a note from her in the box. We returned the item and expect to get a full refund.
