However, it was in good condition and about what I expected even though the product description and illustrations on the website are very poor.

placed order 5/2/04 shipping information supplied was wrong shipper. Had to call 2 times to get correct information. Item arrived 5/10/04 local shipper warehouse complete shattered. Reorderd replacement 5/11/04. Received notice item to be shipped 5/26/04. Called ask why so long for replacement. I was told warehouse out of item was ordering from manufactor. Then recieved notice item would not be shipped till 6/6/04. Still have no real idea as to arrival of item or if in fact it will arrive undamaged.

The product photo shown on their website was different than the item that was shipped. So I returned it because it wasn't what I ordered. I had to pay to ship it back to them and they deducted their cost for shipping it me-even though it wasn't the right item. In other words, I had to pay double shipping on the wrong item. So it cost me $12 in shipping for a $30 item, plus my time to take it to UPS. I contacted them several times by phone and email, but they refused to do cover the shipping costs.

Stay away! These people took our money then took 5 1/2 months to send us our light. We called them a minimum of twice a day for four weeks before our light fixture at last shipped to us. During every call we made to them, they would claim they would need to find out some information about our order and would promise to call us back. They never, ever called us back. They tried to blame us, then tried to blame the supplier, then played dumb. We always dealt with the same two people (Joel and Wendy) who, despite speaking with us several times daily, never seemed to remember us or know what we were talking about. They were rude and completely unconcerned with the fact that they had ripped us off. We finally threated legal action. Customer service was nonexistent.

Lighting Universe has a wonderful selection of unique lamps. I have bought two lamps from them. Both times I was delighted to find out the lamps exceeded my expectations. My normal experience with other online outlets is that the product isn't quite as nice as advertised. I highly recommend Lighting Universe if you are looking for a distinctive, high-quality product.

As we changed out the fixture, I no longer needed the diffuser so to send it back was a major hassle. First, I was not contacted as to the instructions for the return but had to call to get them. Then after being told that an item that cost $105.00 had a 25%(!!!) re-stocking or should I say rip-off fee then I had to ship it back on my own for $33.70 via UPS so an item I never used cost me around $60.00. How happy would you be??????

Bored with Home Depot or Lowes' selection of lighting? This online merchant was amazing - soooo many fixtures to choose from with great photos and easy to understand descriptions about each of them. Ordering was so easy, and the price was right too. The fixture came super fast, and installed easily as promised. The light was awesome; however, it was not capatible with my electrical outlet.. I was misled to believe it was a hanging fixture, but it was a wall fixture. Also, I was told that the chain was 6-feet long; it was 2-feet long. I returned it today, per the instructions of Universe lighting, RMA #103264; however, they are going to charge me a restocking fee anyway. I don't think this is fair, do you?
