Unsatisfactory Shipping & Customer Service. Beware of Gift Registry Difficulties.

I have shopped at Macy's for years, both in-store and at times on-line. I just need to express my utter dissatisfaction with how my recent order was handled/mishandled. I placed an order through the Macy's Wedding Channel on 8/7/07. On 8/14/07, I received one of the three items I had ordered. After about 2 weeks, I still had not received the other two items and there was no tracking information for them in the account information despite being updated as "shipped". It took several emails and a phone call to finally get the customer service people to stop telling me I had already received my complete order. When they took the time to actually read the information on my order, the final two items were shipped. I was really surprised that expedited shipping was not offered to me at no charge at that time considering these items were chosen from a Macy's gift registry and the standard shipping only gets the items to me today (according to the most recent tracking information). Although I received an apology from the girl on the phone, I really feel that more could have been done to create a favorable outcome (i.e. the bride and groom getting their items at their wedding on 9/1 rather than more than a week later). I will no longer be shopping from a Macy's gift registry and will not likely be ordering from Macy's on-line again. I do a lot of shopping on-line and have never had difficulty like this from any other vendor I've shopped with.
