Absolutely terrible customer service, they tried to rob me of my money.

First of all, I wanted to get a comforter during black Friday that had an excellent price. However, I had to cancel my order because the labeling was not clear and I got a regular stuffed comforter instead of a down. I called to cancel my order, which was quick... so I thought. Then I ordered the correct comforter. When I received my item(s) is when things got difficult and Macys tried to take advantage of me.

I received both the needed item and the cancelled item. I was supposed to have been credited for the cancellation, but the charge was still on my credit card . I called the hotline and at first the woman said there was no cancellation listed. I said well I need to have the item cancelled, and she told me to take it to the store. I asked if I would get my shipping costs back (20 dollars) and she said no. So I said I wanted UPS to pick it back up and since I hadn't opened it I could just return it to sender. The woman said this would not work, that she could not credit my shipping money back. So basically no matter what she didn't want to give me the money.

Afterwards, the woman mentioned that although she saw a note that the order was supposed to be cancelled (when she had said five minutes prior that there was no record of the cancellation) I should not have accepted the order when UPS came with it. I answered that it had been dropped off at my door and she said well I still can't refund your money. I became aggravated and said it was unacceptable that they wanted me to pay the shipping charges on an item that was cancelled and never should have been sent out in the first place. To this she replied that she would give me a ten percent coupon off my next purchase. This of course was unacceptable, and after basically pointing out that it was their error several times she conceded to say she would refund my money.

The issue didn't end there. Instead of crediting my twenty dollars, she wanted to give me eight instead. I told her it was the incorrect amount and she responded that the rest of the money was from taxes. I told her I had the shipping charge in front of me and it said 20 and not 8. So after more argumentation she finally said she would credit the right amount and I would have to wait seven to ten days to have it picked up, at which time I would have the rest of my money refunded. We will see if they will do as they say.

The bottom line is that their customer service is terrible. They incorrectly cancelled my order the first time I called, and then tried several ways to keep me from getting the full amount that I paid back. Also, it appeared that the woman on the phone had been dishonest by denying the cancellation. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I'm boycotting the service for good.
