Good prices, lousy service, no support

There's no question that they offer some good prices. My first order with them (for Ink Cartridges) went through fine, and the products arrived as expected.
For my second order, I chose to pay through PayPal, and that's where the system falls apart. They have absolutely _no_ order tracking in place. You cannot tell if they have received or applied your payment, and it is absolutely impossible to get a timely reply to any status requests. Whether it's by email (orders@meritline.com, orderstatus@meritline.com) or forums (where they supposedly have about 5 CS reps), queries are either totally ignored or take days to get a response on. Their ground shipping rates are also quite high. There are plenty of other stores with much better order processing and shipping rates, and nearly the same prices. Skip Meritline, and choose someone who gives a s**t about their customers. |

I've bought DVD-R media from Meritline about 3 times now. No particular reason why I've gone to them every time. I generally hunt around for the best prices on Ritek brand DVD-Rs, and almost every time, that takes me to Meritline. Their site is nothing terribly exciting, but I don't really need to be titillated in the process of buying blank DVD-Rs. Low prices, quick shipping, and no foul-ups along the way are all I need. Thus far, I've always gotten that from Meritline.

I order all my DVD-R media from Meritline.com. I have used them over 10 times in the past 2 years and I have never had a deliver problem. Nor have I had an issue with the accuracy of the order. In such, I have never had to use their customer service.
Product-wise, I have been very satisfied with what I have bought from them. I purchase from the 'Cheap' end of the product line so I expect that not every disc will work. Out of the 10 orders I have only had one where the percentage of failure was high, maybe 1 out of 5 discs were bad. If it's DVD-R media you are looking for, then I would recommend Meritline.com. |

My (bad) experience with Meritline is no different from the others: received confirmation e-mail with UPS tracking number, full of excitement waiting for a package, charged credit card, no merchandise. The day I expected the package arrival I received an e-mail stating the order was backordered instead.
The reason I decided to add my comment is that Meritline lists Credit Card ID in confirmation e-mail, what compromises customers' security. (At least they listed mine) In my opinion this detail is somehow important but was overlooked by previous reviewers. Eventually I was able to cancel the order. Next day I bought the items (computer mouse, notebook lock and bag, network card, batteries, usb cable) at a local store. They was about 50% more expensive than at Meritline but I needed them quickly. My credit card was not credited back yet. |

Easily my most difficult online transaction ever! After placing my order, it was lost for over two weeks because of a 'computer glitch'. Though this did not stop them from charging my credit card the very next day. After unanswered emails, I called their customer service line. Spoke to a representative who said she would check on my order and get back to me later in the day. Two days later I finally received a call explaining the supposed 'glitch' and with an assurance that my order would be shipped without delay. When I received the item (an external 2'5" hard drive enclosure) it appeared to have been used and returned. To top it off, the USB cable was missing from the box; thereby making the item useless. Contacted meritline's customer disservice line again, and was told that a cable would be shipped to me. That was about 10 days ago. The whole ordeal has gone on for over a month. Avoid this retailer! The prices are pretty low, but It is worth the extra few bucks to order elsewhere.

I purchased a DVD writer TDK 440N at Meritline online store. In a few days I received a non-working device. After several days I finally managed to contact the reseller and they mailed me confirmation for the replacement.I sent back the device, and after several mails of explanation that they don“t have any more same devices, finally, at received the mail with explanation that they don't ship any more anything outside US! What a lie! On my credit card bill I noticed that I was charged by Meritline from Guatemala! I asked for complete refund, that includes shipping and taxes, and, of course I have no answer and I don't expect they would answer it, according to a experience of others.

Terrible experience. I ordered 4X DVD+R media from them. They shipped 2.4X media by mistake. It took several calls and emails to get any response. I was put on hold for long periods of time, then told to call a different number, where I get put on hold again. They tried to tell me the media really was 4X even though the label clearly stated 2.4X, and my equipment recognized it as 2.4X. After many hours of my time over 3-4 weeks, I finally gave up and shipped the media back at my own expense and disputed the credit card charge. I have bought most of my hardware, software and supplies over the internet for several years for my business. This is the worst experience ever! They really don't care about customers or repeat business, once they get your money, they are done with you. Shop elsewhere, you will find better deals from companies that really want your business.

I purchased a USB/Firewire 2.5" disk enclosure. They charged my credit card, but didn't ship the item for over two weeks. I sent them an email query, and left a message on their customer service voicemail --- neither were answered.
I then emailed them an order cancellation. They ignored my cancellation and shipped the unit 5 days later. The unit came without any documentation. But more important, it didn't work. The plug connectors had visible damage. I shipped the unit back and asked for a refund. They charged me a 15% restocking fee! I'm fighting this now through American Express, Their customer service is a joke, their goods are shoddy, and their billing practices are bad. Stay away. |

I have mixed feelings about Meritline. I ordered a refurb'd AdsTech USBAV-700 USB Instant DVD. It was as described and shipping was satisfactory.
However, later I asked some pre-sale questions of them about their inkjet dye sub cartridges; first via direct email, then when I got no response after 2 weeks I went looking and found their on-site Forum. I watched as some others got answers from Meritline employees and my questions got ignored. By pestering them (ie, wait a week or two and post again) I might eventually get a partial response. It took me two months to get disgusted with the process, having never received a straight and complete answer to my questions. If you look around their forums there are many unhappy past and future customers there. People made to pay shipping both ways on defective or incorrect (via Meritline's fault) merchandise, people forced to file with their credit card companies for refunds many months after returning said merchandise, returned merchandise lost by Meritline, etc. The true test of a company is how they handle problems. And Meritline fails that test miserably. I will -not- purchase from them again. |

I ordered a Transcend 1GB JetFlash flash drive on Sunday evening. Monday was a holiday. The drive was shipped on Monday, and I received it Wednesday. Well packed, on time, for the agreed price. I found a coupon on line which slightly more than paid for the shipping. Interestingly, 2nd day air was cheaper than ground.

Item advertised was out of stock. Was not told to a week after order. And after they sent me a UPS tracking number saying my order had shipped. Amost impossible to talk to a person at the 800# (took 7 days for me to get a person) Would not shop at this merchant again.

I ordered a dvd burner from them. The site said the item was in stock so I added expedited shipping so I could receive it the next day. They charged my card immediately. I got an email saying the item was backordered and they would ship it 2-3days it's been 2 weeks now and I have still yet to receive my item.
