I have to say that I was really looking forward to these shirts and the price was the best around. So I purchased three different shirts on at the beginning of May. The shirts were shipped promptly within the next day. It turns out that they were sent in a plastic shipping bag that seemed to hold up OK. The shirts were all in individual plastic bags.
Two of the shirts were the correct size. The third was not. I called to arrange an exchange and they sent me a prepaid label 2 days later. They also informed me that they would hold out the correct size. When the label arrived, I had to go out and purchase a box to ship the shirt, which was at my expense.
Along with the label, I received an e-mail the next day informing me that they would be exchanging the shirt. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong shirt. I had to call them to straighten this out. They now had the correct short and correct size.
I sent the shirt back and I received an e-mail informing me that they had returned it and would process the return within 2 business days. The return arrived on Wednesday and didn't make it out until Monday. They sent it out 3 day express.
The shirt arrived in a plastic shipping bag and was intact. This shirt was NOT packed in an individual bag. They sent the WRONG size again.
I called customer service to try and arrange another exchange. A full calendar month had elapsed since my original purchase and in that time, my size had sold out. While the clerk at customer service was pleasant, she could only offer me an exchange label.
I spoke with manager who was sympathetic and she offered me an instant refund plus 10% and a 10% off coupon for future purchases. It was after I hung-up that I started to think about it.
This turned out to cover the shipping cost to send me the wrong shirt but didn't cover the cost of purchasing the shipping materials to send the shirt back. And the coupon had so many limitations, that I could only use it on something like a clothing item.
I called back and spoke with another customer service rep to see if they could help out some other way and got another manager. This manager was also pleasant and courteous but after a while, that started to sound a bit condescending. Maybe it was due to my frustration.
I was very disappointed. The one shirt I really wanted, they couldn't get right.
Bottom line, they believed that they went above and beyond by issuing me a refund plus 10%. While that sounds good, that 10% didn't cover my cost to return their mistakes. Yes they covered the shipping to return the incorrect item as well so at least I wasn't out that way. I wasn't out more than a few bucks for the shipping supplies, but I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake.
They did offer me another very limited 10% coupon for a future purchase. Based on this experience, I have to wonder will I have to go through this as every time I place an order.
