Everything was fine but I never received any notice that the shipment had been received at the store. Also the stove had to be returned because I did not realize that it was the model that did not have the auto igniter.

I love REI -- for the quality of their products and their customer service. Whenever I call, the REI people are "fully present." They listen, hear, understand, and act. This is incredibly refreshing in a time when it's difficult to find a human being on the end of a phoneline. And so often when I have reached a human being, they read a script! REI is there.

One time recently I shopped in person at the REI/Seattle. After leaving the store and returning to the hotel I realized on the receipt I had been charged for two instead of one product. I called customer service and was quickly referred to the correct employee who asked me several questions pertaining to numbers on the receipt. That was it; and within 7 days or less my bankcard was credited back the amount I was overcharged. That couldn't have been any easier, simplier, or less stress-free. If I had to go get the car out of a garage and drive to the store during horrendous traffic and try to find parking and then go into the store to customer service, etc. then return to the car and return to the hotel and repark the car etc. you can understand what a hassle, time-consuming drama it would've been. So not worth it. I was so relieved to take care of it with just one phone call. I like to shop REI for myself and for gifts. I've had a membership number from the very first year they were open; and have received dividends throughout the years; which is a double plus to the shopping experience.

The only bad part was picking it up from the store itself. I had to wait in line for a long time. There was not enough staff for a long time. They had 1 person and it was a long customer service line. It would be a good idea to have the pick up order separate from the returns as the returns can take a long, long time. Just a suggestion.

I love REI, but wish the standard shipping was a little faster. Also, the item arrived earlier than I was told it would--Normally that would be a positive thing but in this case it meant my son received the package when I wasn't home and saw his birthday present ahead of time!

I loved my rope and pulley system. It makes it very easy to load and unload my kayak by myself.
I would probably send my orders to REI and pick them up except it is 50 miles to the nearest store to me. It would cost me more to go and come home than it is to pay the shipping. I love the service I have received from REI so far.

The REI site is easy to use and the products are of high quality. The ship-to-store option works well for us since we don't feel comfortable with packages being left at our home when we are not there during the day. The staff are VERY knowlegeable and helpful if you need them to answer questions. Shopping at REI whether in person or online has been a VERY GOOD experience.

I'm in love with REI - just soooo wished the Fort Collins, Co store was bigger, had more clothing items since I don't order clothing online much at all due to major fitting problems. Would like to try out in store and THEN if not the right color or whatever, but known fit at that timem, order on line.

Everything was great except for the fact that I usually have some trouble with the website working properly, specifically the shopping cart. Many times the cart makes items disappear and I have to start over. Last time this happened I didn't bother to reload my cart. It gets frustrating, and last week I had an order ready to check out when it happened again. I was a bit pressed for time that day so didn't bother to go through the whole process again. Five days later, I'm not going to bother, so I would guess the cart problem probably affects sales.
