I knew my boyfriend-in-law wanted a fleece for his birthday, and since I wanted to surprise him, I used a gift card. I have shopped at REI before and that's why I return. He is a fan of REI and I know anything I get for him at REI will make him a VERY happy guy. I have bought things for myself in your stores and I am also a fan. Keep up this good work with product quality and service.

Straightforward, but would have been easier if gift certificates were automatically stored in my account after I first use them rather than having to find the certificate and reenter all the information each time.

I had to return the shoes, they were too large. I spoke to someone about the return and stated I wanted a half size smaller. The person did not inform me that the size was not available. Instead of getting the size I wanted I received a statement later that the size was not available. I believe the person I spoke with about the size should have informed me that the size I wanted was not available. I hesitate to order again.

On-line, I'm very satisfied with the ability to compare products, the detailed specs and variety of products from which to choose. In-store, I appreciate the expertise and patience have always felt the staff sincerely strives to find the right product within my price range for my needs.

I was disappointed that the pants I received were probably petites or a crop pant that was mismarked. The pants were only 27 or 28 inches in length as compared to the usual 31. This is frustrating because it necessitates a return.

I always check REI first for purchasing outdoor gear and sporting goods. This is because they stand behind their stuff, no questions asked, and they only stock stuff that works! The rebate is a nice feature as well.

REI is a cool place to shop for quality outdoor gear of all kinds. A bit pricey but the sales make up for it. You get quality gear and better than other places for similar pricing. Very knowledgeable people and for and old salt trail runner like me .... this is the place ;-)

Question 2: Yes the items were received in good condition. However, the REI Midweight MTS Briefs - Men's did not match the photo on the website and were not what I wanted. The store quickly accepted the return on the spot. Great service.

I've done this once before and when I went to pick up my order the shoes did not work so I could return them right then. This time everything worked out great. I like being able to order, have it delivered to REI, and then I just pick it up.

I would definitely consider REI *especially* since there is a store near me. I'm glad I was able to save money by picking up my purchase in-store - the associate also told me if there was a problem I could return it there rather than having to mail it. I wish more companies would have such a policy!

I ordered a gift but received no notice or any sort of communication that the gift had/has been shipped. Also, I did not tick off "gift wrap" as it could only be ordered per item and I bought 2 maps. The gift wrap would have been disproportionately expensive. I do not know if a bill was included in the shipment.

Great service, very good products, but prices are a little high. I hope you keep the shipping cost low since you don't have many stores in the area. Sometimes I drive to your store on Rte 73, but the distance is far. The service work you did on my new bike that I purchased on Rte. 73 was great. They corrected all problems I had with the bike. If the prices were a little lower, I would have marked (5) or Excellent. Thank You

I always love shopping at REI. The variety of items available online is great, and I typically use the ship to store option for free, which I love! Then if something doesn't work out, I can bring it back to the store and not have to pay for return shipping. In this case, the helmet I bought online did not fit my child's head well, but I brought it back to the store and had a bike guy help me find a helmet that fit better. Customer service is great, everyone is always friendly, and items arrive quickly. Love it!

I love REI,esp. the outlet, the merchandise at REI.com is top of the line and a little pricey in this economy. Overall, the value is there and the customer service is usually top of the line if a product needs to be returned. They seem to do a good job of retaining customer base by putting customer 1st.
