Ship to store option is great. Unless I have time constraints, I always choose that option. As you can see from above, I purchased quite a lot from REI for the holidays. Most was received in good condition. Thermos was damaged, so I ended up having it re-shipped (unfortunately I had this item shipped to my home, so ended up paying shipping twice). Plastic on outside of the shirts was torn. Everything else was perfect. Great experience and great store. Thanks.

I say this every time I review online shopping at REI: they list the same items under several headings, so I waste a lot of time going through the same items over and over again. This time was better than in the past, however. For example, all of the sunglasses (something I was not interested in) were grouped under a subheading and I was able to (mostly) avoid seeing them several times.

It was easy to find exactly what I needed. I ordered from REI last year for Christmas and because I was so satisfied, I puchased again this year. I made an error w/ my shipping address when I submitted my order online and when I called to correct, the customer service representative was very polite and corrected my error quickly. I am extremely satisfied w/ REI and the only reason why I would not use their ship-to-store service is because we do not have an REI store in my area....if not I definitely would!

I am actually glad to have the opportunity to express my appreciation for this transaction - both the ease of the experience and the quality of the product, which frankly exceeded my expectations! If REI has what I am shopping for, I usually choose them. I do that because several years ago I bought something last minute and when it didn't show up, I called customer service and they were able to tell me exactly where the package was and exactly when I would receive it and the customer service was easy to reach--no hoops to jump through about which button to push. I've always remembered that--I don't know if they are still that good with customer service as I haven't had to contact them, but I always remember how good they were that one time.

There were two lines at the Seattle pick-up in the basement. One line should have been for pick-ups only because many pick-up customers were in line with the ski rental customers and that line was taking forever. Worse was the fact that the most recent arrival customers were jumping in and starting a new line and causing the older customers in line since that morning to have to wait even longer. The clerks, who have great jobs and benefits, seemed to be oblivious to this fact. You understand how frustrating that would be if it happened to you, I'm sure. REI usually handles lines better than this. So just send this message to one of them in Receiving at the Seattle store and they'll take care of it and will ensure that this never happens again...hunh?
