Sierra Trading Post

The whole experience of buying from Sierra Trading was positive, other than paying another $25.12 at the door upon delivery. I had paid $37 shipping and handling, on top of the price of my jacket so was surprisede to pay this additional amount. Perhaps, international customers could be warned about this surcharge?

horrible customer service.  Sierra Club has good prices but beware of their customer service.  You may not get the discount you were offered.  You may then spend 30 minutes intermittently on hold trying to resolve the issue,  become angry and fatigued, and finally hang up in frustration.  All I can say is buyer beware.  Go ahead and order, but just hope you never have a problem because it may never be resolved.  My experience was so bad and frustrating that I will NEVER  order from them again, in spite of their  prices and endless  discounts for 20%.  The fact is, you may never get the price you were offered!

Prices are good but fulfillment stinks. Not like you get a good deal on shipping either $13 for a pair shoes and some socks.  I have placed an order 10 days ago and still have not recieved it.  This is not the first time this has happened.  I got a message it shipped but UPS did not get the package until 4 days latter.  Total lie.  If you have a lot a patience with shipping then you be fine.  I have no patience for businessses that decieve me.

Sierra Trading Post has always been a positive shopping experience for me. It starts with the web browsing & purchase and ends with the on-time delivery. This is one of my favorite web shopping sites. They rate at the top with Amazon and Zappos. One improvement they can make...help the American buyer with the European products they sell. European clothing and shoes tend to run small or narrow. Let the buyer know this on the web site so that they can make an informed decision.

The good: prices are good. I bought a Columbia brand girl's jacket for about 1/2 off.  Item was new, exactly as described, well packaged. Item was shipped 3 days after I purchased it (the delay could have been b/c I purchased on a Saturday), and item was delivered to my door via UPS 3 days after that.  Return policy is quite good.  Someone actually answers their 1-800 number.
The bad: STP automatically adds your mailing address to their catalogs list, which gets shared with a number of other companies. Within weeks, I started getting catalogs from a number of moderate to high end outdoors and survivalist companies, which I did not want. This is the default! To opt out, you actually have to create an account on their website and change your preferences; or you can call their 1-800 number.

My husband and I love shopping at your web site, we probably buy more items from you than anywhere else. You have the best prices and now that I have a Sierra Trading Post Credit card and the shipping is free we shop even more than before. I have recomended many people to shop at your store, and they have been happy also. The only thing that could make buying from you would be free return shipping. Keep up the good work.

All items shipped to my home were either damaged or had been worn by someone else. Each box was missing the HS Trask registration paperwork. I can say the items looked like they were seconds or had been returned before. The shoes were previously returned for defect. The boots were not sewn completely. The second pair of boots sent to replace the first pair was returned previously from another party. I just kept them as it was cheaper to keep them and send them directly to HS Trask for replacement / repair of the soles and reconditioning of the leather uppers. I will NEVER order form your store again. PLEASE REMOVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS FROM YOUR MAILING LIST.

Although the selection of good brands in my size (size 4) can sometimes be limited, the items that are available are consistently a good value. The service is very good. I will continue to shop at this online merchant. I have never had any service issues with this merchant, including on the few returns I have made.
