Ordered 6 Bose 191 in-wall speakers, a Bose Vsc-10 center speaker, and a Yamaha subwoofer for new 7.1 HT system on 10/19. Their website did not show whether the items were in stock so I called to check availability, and also to ascertain if a human was accessible if there was a problem with the order. Spoke to a representative who assured me the equipment was in stock. As Bose sells at MSRP, there was no price incentive to purchase here, but that the speakers were in stock was enough incentive so I placed the order online.
Received an e-mail on Wednesday 10/20 with 4 tracking numbers, which I assumed was for the entire order. The Website showed the order was shipped. I received the 4 boxes on Monday 10/25. One pair of Bose speakers was missing.
I called to check status on the remaining pair of speakers. It took an inordinately long time on the phone to determine that my backorder was, in fact, on file. Was eventually told the speakers were backordered, and were expected in within 2 days, and that they would ship overnight when they arrived.
The website, and the invoice I received via email, never indicated a backorder was outstanding. I was charged the entire amount for the purchase on the date of order. This made me very uncomfortable. The technology exists for online vendors to accurately track backorders, and to charge customers when the item ships. This lead me to believe that I might have been intentionally deceived by the vendor about the available stock to entice me to place the order with them. I, thus, did not feel confident in any of the information relayed to me about when I would get the remaining merchandise.
Consequently, I felt compelled to call everyday to check status of the backorder. I was told 3 days later, on Friday, that the speakers had arrived, and my backorder was being overnighted (I assumed that meant Saturday delivery).
I did not receive the speakers Saturday. I called Monday to check status, and was told the speakers shipped on Saturday. I asked for the tracking number. It took a very long time for the customer serviced rep to come back on the phone with the tracking number. I immediately checked UPS.com, and the tracking number did not show up in the system. Once again I felt I had been lied to. I checked the UPS system intermittently for the rest of the day, and the tracking number eventually showed that the merchandise was shipped, but not on Saturday. It was shipped on Monday. It was overnighted, and I received it Tuesday without further consequence.
All of the products received were new, in the orginal boxes. They were, however, shipped in the original boxes, not double boxed. The original boxes for the Bose 191 speakers have handle holes for lifting, and the speakers were actually visible from the outside of the box. I was aghast that they were shipped like that. I checked the contents of each box very carefully, hoping that I did not have to deal with speakers that were damaged during shipping. They have not been installed yet, but they appear undamaged. I remain hopeful.
To sum it up, while I am glad to say that I DID eventually receive exactly what I ordered, I found the experience of doing business with Your Electronic Warehouse.com to be frustrating, stressful, and disappointing. I will purchase nothing more from them, and would advise my friends to likewise avoid them.
