Each time I enter a Zales store or visit the web site, I am disappointed with their selection, mainly because of the quality. (I prefer smaller, high quality stones, than larger low quality stones, because a nice cut and color will make the stone sparkle. And, that is really what is most important to me.)
QUALITY - I find that the majority of their diamond jewelry is made with yellowish (I-J-K color), included stones (SI-I). The stones of these colors always look yellow to me (G-H just a little bit higher usually seem much whiter by comparison) and very included (SI-I have visible inclusions).
PRICES - Although their prices seem very low, this appears to be due in large part to the quality of the merchandise.
SELECTION - Zales has a lot to offer in many different styles and shapes. It is definitely a good place to go to get an idea what look you want.
SALES PEOPLE - There is always someone willing to assist you in the stores who is polite and helpful.
On the other hand, their more upscale store of Bailey Banks & Biddle Jewelers always has high quality merchandise with of course much higher price tags. However, I haven't seen many examples of this type of quality on their web site.
