I was another person who placed an order with Discountpetdrugs.com without researching their internet reviews first. Their price was excellent for the Prenventic Collars and the website looked good, so I didn't think twice...but I should have. I received an autoresponder email immediately with my order number and a link to their site where "you can always find out the current status of your order..." After two weeks, I clicked the link and found the order status field blank. I called the 800 number and left a message. No one called back. A few days later, I called again and reached a human with a strong accent. He said (like many other people's experiences reported here) that he was going to check the "tracking number" with the Post Office and they would send me an email in 20 minutes. After receiving nothing, I called again, reached the same guy, and again inquired about my order and the promised email. He said they were still checking and that they would probably have to re-ship my order once they heard from the USPS. I asked if he was sure I'd hear back that day. He said "absolutely". Of course, no email. (BTW, they charged my credit card the day I placed the order, even though it hadn't been mailed.)
Today I wrote their customer service an email to document my negative experience, and so I'd have a paper trail when I disputed the charge on my credit card. I also called and was told (after another 10 minutes on hold), that they learned that the USPS had "reported the package was damaged" and had returned it to them. They would be sending out another order. I told them not to bother and to please cancel my order and credit my account. The rep I spoke to said he would do so, but I will be carefully monitoring my credit card transactions over the next few days until I see that the credit was issued. A few minutes after I hung up I received an email from discountpetdrugs with a USPS tracking number. When I entered the number on the USPS website today (April 10th), I received the following information: "
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 1, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date." Occasionally, it seems people do have positive experiences, but the numerous serious (and similar) complaints are very worrisome.
UPDATE: I wrote this review on Friday. On the following Monday, my package arrived Priority Mail with all the tick collars inside. I talked with the rep from discountpetdrugs who blamed all the problems on the USPS. I asked why the label on the package said "April 1" since today was April 13. (Priority Mail takes only two or three days. My order was placed on--and my credit card was charged--Marcy 25th.) He said that the USPS had changed their story about the package being damaged and had delivered it instead. (Huh?) He insisted that they have been having problems lately with the USPS and are looking for a better shipper. He was very apologetic. He said all their bad reviews are coming from people who have had problems faxing their prescriptions.
I'm glad I finally got the collars, but I would not feel comfortable ordering from them again due to the poor customer service I received throughout this whole ordeal.
