Very bad experience

Horrible customer service and order experience. They took my order for an item they showed in stock. When it hadn't shipped per their online order status, I online chatted with Kenneth. He assured me I would have the item as originally scheduled and the online order status was lagged. Today ( 6 days later) I received and email that the item was not in stock and the order was cancelled. It is now too late to order elsewhere before my trip.
BEWARE that their stock status means nothing ! Lorenza wants to give me 25 % off my next order and free shipping for the trouble. I think I'll save the aggravation and order elsewhere. |

I had a great experience with Ebags. I have a tough time buying purses over the internet as I love to be able to touch and try on the bag. If, by chance, you do not like the bag that you order from ebags it is really easy to return items. So I say, buy with confidence!

Do not order using the PayPal method. I placed an order 6 weeks ago - was charged immediately and never received merchandise. The company acknowledged the charge, but said they have no record of the order as Paypal orders do not always process correctly. I cannot get anyone to issue a refund and had to escalate through Paypal. From how their reps discussed the issue with me, they are using outsourced fulfillment and a separate company for Paypal and have no information to assist me.
I am very afraid this outside company handling their payments has taken advantage of me and I may never get my $ back. I'm not ordering from them again - I assume when ordering that I will be dealing with the company that represents themselves on the site - not a 3rd party that cannot be reached at all. Horrible experience and makes me very wary of this company and of Paypal, which I've used before without any problems. I was also suspicious that I could not find any forums for resolving the issue on the site, like Shopping.com or BBB or Bizrate - think they might have a bad rep in some areas? |

I was so upset with eBags. I placed an order 549**** which arrived on time however it wasn't even close to what I ordered! I did like the item that was sent, but the customer service rep couldnt even tell me what it was. I gave her a number that was on it and in it but it didnt seem to be on their computers. But when I did a Google Search for the item I am able to tell her the information and how much Overstock was charging for it.
There wasnt any kind of shipping information in the box so how can the shipper have known what they were to send? In the end I reordered my luggage and it barely got here on time. Customer service did not return any phone calls they promised and UPS information was incomplete. It wasn't until I emailed all or the "head honchos" that anyone paid attention to my issues. Just wanted to warn people that their ad for the product I was interested in (a travel clothesline) said "free shipping" and when I went through the ordering procedure my total included a 4.95 shipping charge! When I went on the live chat with eBags the agent told me it was only free shipping for an order of 35. or more - BUT this was not specified on the ad page!

Ebags is the best online store by far. I ordered a bag yesterday, and it arrived the next day UPS and shipping was free! They have a great selection and their service is excellent. If you want to return something they pay for the shipping back also. I will shop ebags again and again.

I received the wrong item when I ordered-- I have now spent about two weeks going back and forth in emails trying to get it straightened out. Their warehouse pulled entirely the wrong items and I have been suffering as a result. They canceled my original order once they were finally convinced I hadn't received the correct item (in my opinion, good customer service would have meant overnighting me the corrected order) and are making me jump through hoops to get the incorrect items returned to them (and I won't be credited for the entire fiasco until the items are back to them).

I just ordered a laptop sleeve from eBags and was surprised to find out AFTER I paid for the bag that they included a subscription to "TV Insider" magazine without asking me or letting me know. After they had processed my credit card information they advised me I had been charged seven dollars for this subscription and if I didn't want it I had to send them a letter with my credit card statement as proof of purchase. I immediately complained that charging me for a magazine without telling me about it or giving me an option whether or not to accept it was a deceptive practice and probably illegal. They responded to my email stating they would take the charge off my bill and would not send the magazine. I also complained that I had not authorized them sending my name to another company. I was shocked by this practice, which lowered my confidence in doing business with this company considerably.

BEWARE of this FRAUDULENT trick! For the second order in a row, my email receipt from ebags indicated (in very tiny print, smaller than any print I've seen lately in email) that I was receiving a free Inside TV magazine. It further indicated that I had already paid for the subscription with my order, but if I wanted to get the $7 back I would be able to do so by mail, sending my receipt and a SASE in later for a $7 check. I called Customer Service about it the first time and was assured that my account would reflect that I don't want this little "benefit" they want to "bestow" upon me.
I hadn't ordered anything from them in over a year because they had really botched up an order of mine previously, but I thought maybe it was just a one-time thing and it might be safe to go back. It wasn't. Their prices may be a little lower, but it isn't worth it anymore. They've gotten bigger and bigger and their customer retention doesn't mean squat to them anymore. |

I never received my merchandise so I called ebags. I was told that they would check to see what was wrong and that they would get back to me within a couple of days. No one ever did. I sent an e-mail and got an automated response saying I would hear from them in 24 hours. I never did. I called again two days later and they said they would rush me a new order and call me to let me know it had been sent. Five days later I still had not heard back from them. I call again. They show no record of sending me a new order. These people show no respect to their customers.

got the luggage sets that were on sale really quickly, free shipping as well. ONe of the sets had a piece that was defective. Customer service was helpful, but I had to send the entire set back, not just a piece, which I thought was a pain. They did send me a return UPS label via email for free return shipping, as well as ship out a new set for less money than I paid for the original so I save some money on the return. Overall good prices.

I was so impressed by this company I wanted to come and write a review. I ordered a laptop bag, and the order was shipped quickly and at a great price, but the one they sent was a size bigger than what I had ordered. I called customer service and with no wait time at all, they not only refunded the full charged price for the old bag, but they let me keep the old bag for free and sent the new one at less then half the price on their site to make it up to me. I ordered a Jansport 26" All Terra Wheeled duffel from ebags.com and after receiving it, I am very satisfied with my experience with ebags.com. There was a delay of about 4-5 days before they confirmed the shipping date, but once the item was shipped, it arrived on time and in excellent condition. The time from ordering the bag to receiving it was about 10 days, but that's not bad considering that the bag was shipped by ground from the west coast to the east coast. Shipping was included in the price, which was about as low as any other price that I found for the same bag. I received an email after the bag was shipped that gave me a UPS tracking number. After ordering from ebags.com I read a few bad reviews about them, but my experience was excellent.

eBags.com is a good choice for a large selection of bags, briefcases, etc. The prices are competitive and the selection is large with a simple and intuitive check-out process. Delivery was fairly prompt with no problems. The items were in perfect condition with no blemishing or fraying. The box was also in good condition.
As for customer service, I cannot comment since I did not need to call or e-mail them (which is a good thing, of course). It would be nice if they had USPS delivery, but this is a small matter. This would be the main improvement I would like to see. |

Excellent! I made a mistake when choosing a case for my new notebook computer. Ebags' return policy made it a no-brainer for me to return the wrong-sized bag and order a new one. They paid the shipping both ways. Even better - as soon as UPS had the return package in their system, Ebags issued a refund to my credit card.
Everyone in business should look very carefully at the way this company does business. They've made me a customer for life. |

Frustrating- as a frequent online shopper, I expected much better. After placing an order for a bag showing "in stock" and showing a delivery date of a week later, I still had yet to receive my order OR an updated ship/receive date. I had to call twice to their customer support only to receive unfulfilled promises of updated order status' "sometime in the next day or so" and a callback "maybe tomorrow". Ugh. Without a doubt, one of the worst companies I've dealt with on or offline.

I'm never shopping eBags again. If you pay even a small portion of an order with a gift certificate, then return the item for a refund, they refund ALL of the price in the form of a gift certificate -- instead of refunding the amount paid by credit card back to your credit card, as is standard. Seems like FRAUD to me -- maybe they're desperate for positive cash flow or something. In any case, when you call customer service and ask them to fix this, they act as if this is an extraordinary request, as if they hadn't gotten complaints about this odd pseudo-policy. They still haven't gotten back to me about it-- lots of stalling, "supervisor's on the phone", non-response to email inquiries, etc. BEWARE!

Beware of ebags. I placed an order on the 4th of Nov and was told to expect delivery on the 15th. On the 17th I emailed them concerning the order. They did reply and I was told my concerns would be forwarded to a different dept. I called them after 3 days and was told the order shipped 2 day express. I waited 4 until the 4th business day and called them again to find out where my order was. I was put on hold while the customer service rep checked on my order. I was then told that it was tracked and to expect delivery the following day. My order did not arrive and I called them again only to find out that my order had not even been shipped.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Beware, and good luck if you do place an order with ebags. |

I've had nothing but the best experiences with eBags.com, having placed several orders with them over the past two years. On each occasion, I found the web site easy to use, the correct merchandise was shipped and delivered either on time, or--on two occasions--a day or two BEFORE the promised delivery date. I've been able to easily track my orders with the link to the UPS web site. Most impressive, on the two occasions when I've taken advantage of their "no questions asked" return service, I've received a prompt return free UPS return label by e-mail. Absolutely no hassles with the returns and proper credit to my credit card. (Both returns were simply because, upon inspection, the merchandise I ordered didn't meet my needs/standards, not due to any failure of eBags.com to properly describe the merchandise on the website.) I definitely would recommend eBags.com
