Product Description

Personnel: Ryan Ross (guitar, accordion, piano, organ, keyboards); Heather Stebbins (cello). Audio Mixer: Matt Squire. Recording information: Dang! Studios; SOMD. Photographer: Alan Ferguson. Panic! At The Disco's debut album is a genre-busting blend of slick, poppy emo-influence punk, Strokes-like rock, and, well, disco. While the first two genres fit together seamlessly, a blend of all three is a risky proposition usually attempted only by experienced professionals. Nevertheless, these inspired neophytes score time and again with tracks like the glittering "Camisado," with its sparkling sequencer interlude, and the witty "Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" (the opaqueness of Panic!'s song titles is a large part of their charm). The band's lyrics tumble out in a rush, while their musical ideas are a complex distillation of pop's last 40 years, played with an innocence and enthusiasm as infectious as it is exhilarating.

This band makes anything but Panic! in the music business

Date of Review:  May 28, 2006
The Bottom Line: Don't even have a fever for it.
Review: Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?! No, it's much better to face these kind of things is what the bands proclaim. Too bad, it's true about their debut album. I have to admit. In all my 3 years here, out of all of my negative...

It tries way too hard, a tad more punk...

Panic At the Disco?s feverish breakout is something you won?t easily sweat out

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2006
The Bottom Line: ?Let?s get these teen hearts beating faster. Faster.?
Review: Their spirited debut A Fever You Can't Sweat Out has been steadily taking hold of respectable sales, modern rock charts, and the obligatory crossover into the mainstream. They're a band that have frequently been called Fall Out Boy's 'brother'...

Panic! in Pretentious! Bad! Shock!

Date of Review:  Mar 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: P!ATD try hard, it just doesn't come off often enough.
Review: Pretentious, self obsessed, arrogant; there's numerous other words I could use to describe the worlds newest 'it' band, but to be honest, I can't be ars*d to think of them. You see, never more so than now has a band had the audacity to base a record...
