2006 Chevrolet HHR

Consumer Rating: 2006 Chevrolet HHR Reviews and Ratings - Rating 3.5/5   See 32 reviews  | Write a review
Information: Product details   |   Product accessories
Manufacturer: Chevrolet
After the successful launch of the 9-3 Cabrio and sedan, Saab is gearing up for yet another addition to the lineup in the form of a sport wagon. A concept version of this upcoming addition was unveiled at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show. With a shape inspired by the earlier Saab 9-3X concept, Saab further refined the idea into the 9-3 Sport-Hatch concept. Intended to blur the lines between traditional wagons and hatchbacks, the Sport-Hatch is less radical than the 9-3X, but no less appealing thanks to its swoopy exterior shape and more useful configuration. In very Saab-like fashion, the five-door " fastback" is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine which rated at 250 horsepower. Expect to see a production version of the Sport-Hatch later next year.

HHR - A better PT Cruiser?

by  shoplmart ,  Oct 23, 2005
80 out of 81 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Fuel economy, Smooth ride, Exterior styling..
Cons: Acceleration more for point A-B transport, Interior quality and design, Price of options.
The Bottom Line: The HHR has a lot of potential, unfortunately GM still has a long way to go with this one..

Review: The PT Cruiser, especially in GT trim, is one of my favorite utility wagons on the road. The PT GT is quick, good looking, offers good utility, and a fair price tag. That said, the all-new Chevrolet HHR (High Heritage Roof) retro wagon didn t...

Any reason to buy this PT Cruiser knock-off?

by  mkaresh ,  Aug 11, 2005
26 out of 26 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Smoother and quieter ride, more refined engine, more macho styling, driving position
Cons: Not as cute, no performance engine option, numb steering, more lean in turns
The Bottom Line: Largely a me-too product that breaks no new ground, the HHR's main advantage over the PT Cruiser is a smoother, quieter ride.

Review: My wife isn't much of a car person, but the especially cute ones nevertheless capture her attention. She wanted VW New Beetle when they first came out, but she also wanted to start a family. So functionality, or a lack of the same, nixed the VW...

HHR: More Fun To Look At Than To Drive, But A Decent Compact Wagon.

by  drive571 ,  Nov 22, 2005
23 out of 23 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Great styling, unique view out, versatile cabin, mild and pleasant ride.
Cons: Decaf acceleration, feathery steering, some ergonomic annoyances, and a mooing exhaust note.
The Bottom Line: Like the PT Cruiser, the HHR is a likeable small wagon competing with several other likeable small wagons. If you love the looks, go for it. Otherwise, shop around.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: My Experience

Imagine, for a minute, that you're an automobile manufacturer who's fallen on hard times. Small cars are gaining market share, Chrysler's PT Cruiser has become a huge hit, and now you're hurting for a "cool" compact...
