Product Description

The ES semi-hollow body guitars from Gibson first appeared in 1958. The Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar looks and feels a lot like a vastly more expensive Gibson ES-335. The Dot features a laminated maple body, a glued-in mahogany neck, and a dot-inlaid fretboard. Its '57 Classic pick-ups have alnico magnets and and a 3-way pickup selector for growling snarls and sweet, singing sustain. Features 2 volume and 2 tone controls that let you tailor your tones to fit your style. The flawless finish, the stop tailpiece and bonnet knobs gave an authentic touches. If you like to play jazz, blues, gospel, rock, this guitar is great for both beginners and professional players.

Not Its Big Brother, But Hey, Not Everyone Has $1200 Lying Around

Date of Review:  Feb 17, 2005
The Bottom Line: Versatility for $400.
Review: This is no Gibson. The Gibson ES-335 is the legendary guitar that this one is modeled after. The ES-335 is used by many musicians past and current, including Elliott Smith. This Dot is basically a copy of the 335, made by Epiphone, which is like...

The Dot--Not An ES-335, But Not Bad

Date of Review:  Mar 29, 2002
The Bottom Line: The Dot is Epiphone's bargain version of the Gibson ES-335--just keep that in mind. It's never going to be a Gibson, but the price is affordable for most.
Review: Epiphone-The Dot is Epiphone's more affordable version of the classic Gibson ES-335. Epiphone began manufacturing this guitar as early as the summer of 1958, and those early models were well-built, quality instruments. In the 1960's, Epiphone came...

Mamma say's "Quit tracking in all that mud!"

Date of Review:  Nov 16, 2001
The Bottom Line: Buy a DeArmond X155, they are build by Guild & sound way better!
Review: I?ve been wanting a 335 for some time. I have a friend who has two vintage 65?s and I love how his sound. So when running across a used Epiphone Dot on the web at a great price I figured I?d give it a try.

Now I had tried several new...
