The Forerunner 101 offers athletes and recreational walkers and runners an entry-level personal training device with GPS. It has the same features as the Forerunner 201, but operates on two AAA batteries. The Forerunner 101 stores lap histories for up to two years to provide an archive of workout performance over time. Users can retrieve lap data for previous workouts by date, week, month, or over a specific time interval. For business travelers who want to train on the road, the Forerunner 101 also doubles as a navigator. Users can mark their hotel as a specific location, see their current position on the plotter display, and follow an electronic breadcrumb trail back to their starting point.

A Great Running Tool

The Bottom Line: A great running tool for all runners out there who like to accurately track their progress. Good value for the money. Not good for those running in heavy tree cover.

Forerunner 101 Wrist Mounted GPS Training Device

It heavily sits on your wrist or forearm and tracks your path and progress while walking, running, or other traveling exercises. It's around 100, and chances are it's not really worth it for more than 1 or 2 uses. Also the navigation takes a bit of getting used to. Of course by the time i was used to it, i had stopped using it. Pros: GPS Navigation, Tracks your distance & speed, Tracks your progress over time Cons: Mostly useless if you generally take the same route, Heavy, Confusing to use
