The HP SMART Storage DVD-ROM Drive provides enhanced features while preserving backward read compatibility with CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-DA. It reads single- and double-sided, single- and dual-layer, DVD-R, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-DA. Slot loading disk mechanism prevents disk damage and allows horizontal or vertical mounting. The mechanism gently grips the disk on both sides. Ejected disks are held in the slot with the center hole visible to allow disks to be loaded and removed without leaving fingerprints on the data surfaces. ??Rack-ready modules are easily plugged into a rack kit with a 68-pin and power blind-mate connector. To install the module easily into a rack kit enclosure, each rack-ready module features a bottom ejection lever assembly.
