Sturdy gate best for stairs, but could use improvement

Pros: Self-latching, sturdy metal gate, designed for stairways
Cons: Plastic hinges, overly sensitive night-light, poor installation template
The Bottom Line: Decent gate for the price, but has some less-than-satisfactory components. I would recommend this gate for the budget conscious.

Review: This is the second baby gate we have bought to close off the stairs of our split level house. The first gate was also a Safety 1st model, and despite using their installation template, we went through 3 sets of hinges in one year. Not a good design...

Pros: Fits on angled walls.
Cons: noisy to open/close

Review: I bought this gate to keep my toddler from falling down the stairs. I liked the extra light feature and the fact that it was made of metal rather than wood and appeared to be much more sturdy than some others out there.
