Product Description

When the Wernham Hogg paper merchants needed someone to come in and shape up their office, they found the man who definitely thinks he is the most capable candidate in David Brent (Ricky Gervais). Brent rules a tight ship, but at the same time tries to be every employee's best friend. Brent is the centerpiece for this brilliant satire of 9-5 office life. Camera crews follow Brent and his employees around in this British series that uses no laugh track, and doesn't need it. The razor sharp comedy will have audiences in stitches. When released in England, this wickedly funny series broke all sales records for non-film DVD releases.

The Funniest Thing You're Not Watching: The Office, Season One

Date of Review:  Dec 29, 2003
The Bottom Line: ...
Review: Everybody has known a David Brent in their lives. For those supremely unlucky ones, they have actually had him as a boss. He's easy to spot from miles away. He's the guy who wants to be your friend first, and your boss second. He overhears your...

The Office: Season One (British)

Date of Review:  May 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is one of the funniest things to come out of the UK since Monty Python.
Review: The Office is a six-part British comedy television show made to look like a documentary about a bunch of office workers. It was recently remade into an American version starring Steve Carrell from Comedy Central s The Daily Show. This is witty...
