Through this expansion package, one of the longest-running persistent-world RPGs gets a new realm to explore and tame, and new homes to build and inhabit. Ultima Online: Age of Shadows includes the "House Design Tool," which allows players to build new houses from scratch or modify existing domiciles with new structures and textures. Those who adventure to the expansions new realm will find an enhanced magic systems with new spells and items. New combat techniques are also employed here, designed to add depth and challenge to battle. Age of Shadows also allows two new character classes: The Paladin, a courageous warrior of light, and the Necromancer, who explores forbidden secrets and wields the dark magic.

Pros: Bugs worked out. Reduced lag for dial-up. Major upgrade.
Cons: Major in-game economic shift.
The Bottom Line: For new houses, don't buy. The land is gone. But, to experience thrill in this game again, the time to buy is now! UO is back!

Pros: Character flexability, Choice of graphic types, unlimited game play
Cons: Lag, online help could be better, buggy patches
