Pros: Inexpensive, great picture
Cons: Crappy remote, evolving technology
The Bottom Line: With sale/rebate this is a no-risk buy while we're waiting to see who wins the format battle.

Review: Anyone purchasing a new high definition DVD Player will have to first decide if they want to commit to the HD DVD or the Blu-Ray technology. What's the difference? About $400. We have yet to have a DVD player that has lasted more than an year or two...

Great picture, great audio, great value!

Pros: Incredible picture and currently a real bargain.
Cons: Still some bugs left in the system.
The Bottom Line: A real bargain, but make sure you buy one from a store with a good return policy and rent lots of HD-DVDs before the return period is up.

A High Quality Upconverter/HD Player for the price of Standard DVD Players

Pros: Plays HD DVDs in 720p/1080i, while Upconverting Standard DVDs to 1080i.
Cons: No longer a viable choice for new HD movies.
The Bottom Line: A definite buy for about $60, even if only used as an upconverter, you will save money in the long run over Blue Ray DVDs.
