Seems like a good deal; it is NOT!!!

Bought an Acer TravelMate for the great specifications and innovative ergonomics. I should have bought another brand.

First, the ergonomics suck (CAPS key to close to “A” key and “€” & “$” keys too close to arrows). As such, if you type a lot, expect to make a lot of typos (especially since the keyboard is not that responsive; the good point is that if you intend to play piano, you will have some pretty strong finger muscles).

Then, after two months, the motherboard fried. I sent it to the customer service center, got it back quickly but then the USB ports did not work anymore. Because Acer doesn’t even carry inventory in the US, don’t expect a replacement anytime soon.

My advice, stick to any manufacturer but this one.
