Do I get those three hours back? No? Well...what do I get?

Date of Review:  Sep 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: You'll be tempted to see this just to find out how bad it really is. Do not succumb.
Review: Okay. I'm not exactly sure how it's possible to make a film about Alexander the Great and have it turn out boring and uninteresting and stupid beyond anything made in the last ten years. I mean, look at the guy's accomplishments -- seems like it...

Alexander The Gay a/k/a Queer Eye for the Blond Guy

Date of Review:  Nov 24, 2004
The Bottom Line: This would make for an interesting DVD. It's a passionate, deeply flawed but fascinating film.
Review: It's too gay. It's too long. It's too talky. That, I fear, is what most people will take away from this remarkable film - which also happens to be a remarkable mess.

Oliver Stone is an unofficial Texan. He loves to wear the big hat...

Alexander the Bland

Date of Review:  Aug 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: A disappointing flick. I'd expect better of Ferrell, Jolie, and Stone.
Review: Alexander the Great was one of history s most compelling figures. Inheriting the throne of his father at the age of 20, young Alexander had ambitions to conquer the known world. His legendary successes were made only that much more fantastic...

Alexander the Mullet

Date of Review:  Dec 10, 2004
The Bottom Line: I suppose you could go see this and rebut my review, but I suggest your money could be better spent on bad food or a toenail clipper.
Review: Looking at the cast on the playbill led me to believe that it had a shot of being a dynamite movie, one that I might feel glad I shelled out a few bucks and spent an afternoon watching. I think I was wrong.

Alexander's love life seemed to...

Oliver Stone's Epic - Blab Blah BAL Craft

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2007
The Bottom Line: The movie, "Alexander," suggest being the life of Alexander the Great, who conquer most of the world in between 356-323 B.C.
Review: It is the Alexander movie. The director Oliver Stone is the cinematic in view. The pictorial picture that suggests being. The life of it is Alexander the Great, whoever. The ruler of Macedonia (roughly Northern Greece) is forever. The Alexander...

The Moose Hole - 'Alexander' the Boring

Date of Review:  Nov 24, 2004
The Bottom Line: Even if you were one of those individuals who got a kick out of reading up on history, you'll be wishing for that bell halfway through this deathtrap.
Review: Hollywood right now seems to be in the middle of a great revitalization of the swords and sandals genre once a prominent staple of the golden age of cinema with such classics as Ben-Hur and Spartacus. After being caught nearly off-guard by the Best...

Alexander's Great!! But not this movie!!

Date of Review:  Dec 4, 2004
The Bottom Line: Forget the hype, forget this movie. If you want to see a good greek actioner better choose Troy. Watch this only if you have to.
Review: Introduction
It seems that Hollywood is going berserk in Greek!! It started with the Big Fat Greek Wedding or even before that with Gladiator and carried on to Troy and now to Alexander. So we all know that Alexander the Great, achieved...

Alexander: Not So Great

Date of Review:  Dec 5, 2004
The Bottom Line: A historical figure like Alexander deserves a film that is truly Great. This one isn't.
Review: Alexander the Great is a challenging subject: the young man who conquered the known world and suddenly died at 33 crammed so many big achievements into his short career that he has been the subject of song and story for the past 2,300 years.

Alexander - 25 Minutes of Alexander in Action!

Date of Review:  Nov 27, 2004
The Bottom Line: Skip Alexander and check out Troy or King Arthur.
Review: And 2 hours and 40 minutes of boring, uninspiring dialogue later, I was waiting for the movie to end by the two hour mark, even with the big fight at the end, Oliver Stone's direction of this movie was flat out horrible. In the months that preceded...

Alexander The Flop --- An epic of boredom

Date of Review:  Aug 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: Alexander is the theatrical failure of our time, and it's not because it is under-appreciated. In fact TOO MANY people have seen it already.
Review: The story of Alexander is a great one. THIS story of Alexander is by far, one of the worst depictions of the past I have seen. When I stop to consider the past 27 years of my life, I cannot come across a bigger flop both in box-office receipts,...
