Author's Review
I have had a Macbook for the past 11 months and have been fully satisfied with it. I have been a PC user for a long time and was concerned about the transition to a Mac. However, with the intel processor, and the new OS which is able to run MS Windows in a window, I made the jump. Many of the features are unique to mac and provide it an edge above the PC laptops. The time machine backup system is wonderful and extremely simple. The mac OS is essentially immune to viruses (I haven't had to clear a single virus, compared to literally hundreds on my PC laptop over the same time). The screen is bright and sharp, the casing is small and comfortable to the touch, and the keyboard is responsive with a nice springiness.
Transitioning for a PC took a little time (about a week to get used to new arrangement) but the mac allows changes to key responsiveness, mouse speed, and other factors at made it "feel" more like I am used to.
Since we purchased the Macbook, I have upgraded the RAM and the Hard drive to allow for more room for photos.
My wife is not a very tech-savvy person, and I was concerned about how she would adjust to a Macbook since she struggled with PC's. Amazingly, the macbook made more sense to her and she is extremely capable and comfortable navigating it's programs (and asks me a lot less questions, and cried much less from things going wrong).
