Had problems with Dish network

Right after connecting the Archos 605 to a DishNetwork 722 receiver I got the message “Please switch to Windows Media Mode to transfer content from the DVR”.
After almost 2 hours on the phone with tech support at archos and DishNetwork here is what I found out. None of these companies would give you this steps easily, so I hate them, but I’ll try to make life easier for the next sucker that is bothering with them.

To make Archos 605 work with Dish network do this:
1. Dowload the Dishnetwork plugin from the Archos site. Just do a search on the net for “Dishnetwork plug in for Archos” and you might find it. The morons at archos hide it quite well.
2. Move downloaded plug in file in the root directory of the archos HDD and pull the USB plug. The update will take place.
3. On the Archos 605 Go in the Settings, “System” and change the “USB Connection” to Windows Media mode.
4. Plug it to the DVR and you should be fine. Go to Manage USB storage, and select transfer programming.

I am disgusted with both companies, Archos and Dish Network for not putting such a document anywhere…, what can you do. Their time is valuable, so “Let the customers figure it”
