Author's Review
I love my Arm's Reach Bedside Co-Sleeper! As first-time parents, my husband and I were nervous and reluctant to let our baby sleep far away in his own room. Once he outgrew the bassinet, I saw the Co-Sleeper in a catalog, then researched it on the internet.
We bought it at a real-life store (saving the cost of shipping). It was a bit difficult for my husband to put together and attach to the bed, but once it was completed, we all loved it! I could just glance over to see that the baby was okay, and when he woke up to nurse, I just picked him up, without getting out of the bed. And he didn't take up any space in our bed, which is not very big. Although the instructions state that it can only be used until 6 months, we used it until about 8 months, when our baby started to pull up. The sides are too low to be safe when a baby pulls up.
It was very convenient as a portable playpen when we went to my husband's grandparents' house for Thanksgiving. Since he was used to sleeping on the mattress anyway, it was like being in his own bed. Also, although it states not to keep the side folded down when used as a playpen, my baby LOVES to pull up on the folded-down side.
Even now, I put him down for naps and occasionally bring him in our room in the "Co-Sleeper as a playpen" at night. I didn't notice the pocket on the side for the longest time, but now I keep some of the baby's toys in there.
I really like this product, and I am so glad I decided to buy it.
