Computer upgrades are probable, but worth it. Child gamers can be a hassle

Author's Review
I love this game. It has been around a year or more (with all the beta versions, etc.) and I have been playing for a little over 4 months. This game is addicting and I don't have a problem saying that I am 110% addicted to it. For those of you that have played the original pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons back in the day will LOVE it. The programmers, with some help from the creator of the game, have really transformed a game, where imagination is key, into something that can be seen right in front of you on your computer screen.
For those who have never heard of D & D I will explain the best that I can, but you will only be able to understand it once you have played the game. It all happens online. You purchase the digital download or retail version and get it on your computer. From there you can create an account through various 3rd party account websites. Once you have a login that has been verified, you are set to go. You are allowed to choose character class (barbarian, ranger, wizard, sorcerer, cleric, fighter and more), race (warforge, human, elf and more) and alignment (lawful, good, chaotic and more). From there you can customize your characters looks and skills (more strength for barbarians, fighters and more intelligence for wizards, etc). Once you have that all figured out, you are ready for Stormreach. You are fun through a maze of tutorials that are a GREAT deal of help and well worth the time to do.
The quests start out in solo mode so that you can learn the basics of the game. After about 4-5 of those and a quest that sends you around the stormreach map you are set to find a party and slay the dragon! Well, ok maybe you are quite ready to do just that, but the game makes it real easy to find a group of friends or strangers to play your quests with. MOST quests require a group of at least four. I would say that is a strong point in the game, not ONE person can get through everything with some help. And of course you get all kinds of fun loot when you beat a main guy or accomplish something heroic in the game. With voice chat available, communication in a group of 6 is seemless.
Level cap is at 12 (1-12-97), but sure to go up. I have been playing for under 6 months and the highest level character I have is 9. You are allowed 5 per account and it takes a lot of dungeons to get yours up to level 12. With about 15 servers and pretty reasonable monthly rates (from $11.99) this game is a sure winner for every one out there. I have played with kids 13 and up and with adults that remember the game from back in the day. Its great for meeting new people from all over the world. To really enjoy the game in full force you may have to upgrade a computer that is 3-4 years old or more. Still worth the fun.
